It's an english thing we made ireland scotland and wales sit stay and roll over long enough :laugh:

Why do you english men go on about training your dogs to sit stay ect..While in Ireland we rare them ..point seek destroy what would you want a running dog to sit for...UNLESS he needed a rest. :thumbs:

I rather spend a bit of extra time a day with a pup and end up with a well schooled dog rather than a dog merely capable on being pointed and slipped.............

Well my bullx will sit, lie down and roll over he will also sit on hand signal , he did sit on the whistle but haven't kept that going . Why not have a well trained dog it's easier to work with than a point and slip .. Summertime walks are great for learning the dogs new stuff.

You've basically admitted you couldn't train your hair mate...Barbara Woodhouse type obedience is over-egging it a little but you can't beat a well-schooled obedient dog. Saying you don't want a dog to sit and stay etc is another way of saying you've failed to train it!!!! :thumbs:

Your missing the point.what would we want to train a dog for.its for coursing hares you just need to point n slip :yes:
