going outside for a smoke is all well & good, but as soon as you get back in & have another swig of beer, you need another fag! in my local, the landlord smokes, the landlady smokes, most of the bar staff smoke, most of the customers smoke... it's going to be... weird

Just back from Ireland and the ban has started over there.........Belfast is a smoke free city as well now........its not to bad to be honest and I love a fag or should I say cigarette

Up here in scotland i have found the smokin ban to be good and bad ( i am smoker) When going outside for a smoke i have had some great chats with people i have never ever met but if its pissing down outside it aint much fun.

i know smoking cigarettes in public is now very frowned upon so ive given them up,and bought myself a pipe,i love it its like my own private bonfire,i think it satisfies some underlying primal instinct

carcinagens.the differance between smoking or non-smoking is non-smoking does not harm anybody.it has no comparison with the ban on hunting this is peoples health were dealing with you would not like someone to come along and hit your children but you think nothing of blowing smoke down other people childrens throats take a trip to a lung disease ward and see if you feel the same after.

Its about time something was done about it

and as for taking peoples liberty away, thats bollocks, nobodys stopping you smoking yourself to death and inflicting your second hand smoke on your family, IN YOUR OWN HOME.

There is no need to spout off to me, as i know for fact some peoples priority's come befor others...and both sides think they have the best most importanT argument.

I gave up the weed 2 years ago this month, and i was an ardent smoker, and supporter of smokers "rights". I now realise what a twat, and selfish b*****d i was, forcing my friends to inhale second hand smoke, in the pub.Its only when you give up, do you realise how badly it stinks, how badly smokers stink, and how sore it makes your throat. Its a filthy disgusting habit, and knowing how much better my own health has been since stopping, i wish the government would ban it completely, and FORCE everyone to stop. I,m no supporter of bans at all, but if the average smoker could see how much better they would feel, health and money wise, only a fool would carry on. Yep, i loved a smoke, no one more, but it kills you early, and i didn,t want my little lad growing up without a daddy. When i see all the kids smoking, and all the fit young birds, it makes me sad.

Am i glad i gave up smoking back in january, it would kill me to be out & not have a fag. So you smokers what you going to do...give up or just ignore this other f*****g law to controle us ??.

Plus what do you think about it, good or bad idea??

oi no one was spouting off to anyone the point is how can someone be right to do something that harms others peoples health and especially the vulnerable i.e children and babies .weve all seen it women with fags hanging out there mouths letting the smoke drift into the kids faces .my dad packed in so my baby sister wouldnt have to breath all that shit in 2 years ago because he knew it was wrong so why should anybody else be allowed to poisen her me or anybody else who doesnt smoke.one thing i would say about the smoking ban is because the only place smokers will be allowed to smoke is there own home more kids will probebly suffer with smoking related illneses.if you ask smokers and ex smokers if they had another chance would they smoke again the answer would be no so does that not answer the question.
