It's not quite the same thing mate. And I see the lads point.

Piglet and pork pies - not the same thing.

Whole rabbit and whole rabbit - pretty similar ;-)

How do you lads who feed whole rabbit have the dog not eating them in the field?

Simple dogs ain't stupid they know the difference in hot and cold game , same way when you send a dog used for pigeon shooting out for a runner they don't go and pick up all the dead ones out as decoys

iv fed whole rabbits for a few seasons an never had a problem with a dog trying to eat 1 in field, if your dog or any other dog stops whats its doing on the lamp an wants to sit down an have a meal instead a keep running bunnys, then id suggest ye dog aint realy want the job, my dogs love whole rabbits for a meal, but they love lamping an working a whole heap more :thumbs:

What tickled you?

It was a serious question. Thanks for the explanation

Rabbits are full of tapeworms ect, freezing for a month, kills them. However, i have in the passed also fed raw warm rabbit and venison and they thrived on it.

I did have to worm them every month mind, as they crapped out long tape worms and segments on a regular basis!

Their is nothing better, then watching a litter of pups, demolishing a whole deer carcass.
