My Next Purchase...You Decide!

Recommended Posts

As y'all may of noticed, of late i have been changing my rifles more often than my pants ..only half joking!

Now, I've been out in the airgun world and tarted around, I'd like to settle down...

Budget is potentially £350-£500? Saving takes a while but is possible.

I leave it to you calibre, mechanism etc. We're bound to see some of the usual suspects....I will most likely bow to the common consensus and provided all goes well, promise to keep it for longer than four wash days!

Bring it on!

Hi Mate,

Been reading your posts and blog and must say, Im very envious of your lifestyle!

Because of your lifestyle the rifle you choose I would say is pretty important! My advice would be something you could service or repair yourself to save on costs. Also a pump to save on messing with a bottle. If I was in your situation my choice would be an AAS410 Classic in .177. Super accurate, decent shot count, simple to work on with plenty of online strip guides, and very reliable! After an outing a quick wipe down with a bit of 3-in-1 and will see you many problem free years of putting meat in the pot!

Kindest Regards,

Mikey.

Secondhand:- BSA Super 10, shot count loads, reliable mechanism, quiet! Looks mean too! HW100, reliability in a rifle shaped package...

New: Hatsan AT44, quiet, cannot be double loaded, accurate (German barrels used these days) and mechanically reliable. 2 magazines supplied as standard, about the cheapest multishot PCP there is on the market. The factory backup is good too, I had a problem that turned out to be the pump, I thought it was the seals on the probe at first and spoke to Edgar Brothers, they sent the seals down FOC! Next day too! That budget would see you with a new gun, scope and silencer! Leaving existing scopes already on springers ready for use!

For a so say poor gun, you don't see many at44-10's on the second hand market, certainly not the walnut ones...quite a testiment I think.

Hw100 would be ideal perhaps slightly ambitious.

A superten would be welcome but what about parts availability now production has stopped?

I keep telling myself my next gun is a Aa s410 super light carbine in hunters green. Oh what a gun that is! I held one in a shop and fell in love with it. I'd get it in .177 as .22 is a bit tricky to master at hights (for my inexperienced mind anyway) but I think second hand they are about 450 with an extra 50 for pump

Hi just reading your signiture...AA TX HC for sale.... AA S200 Coming friday...are you sure you havnt already made your choice ;)

However the s410 is a good choice.

I personally think HW100k sporter but i would say that...Im now on my third..I think there the dog's :victory:

But you say slightly ambitious... Id say if you can afford any rifle around the £500 mark you can afford a rifle around the £750 mark too...just be paitiant, after all a good shooter should have pleanty of patiant's...hang on to the paper stuff and you can have what ever rifle you want.

Hehe probuk, that's still the tarting around... patience is indeed a virtue.

I didn't expect the s410 I must say...have heard a lot but maybe I need to waste an rfd's time (my local isn't very popular and way too pricey) feeling one up...
