pat blewitt 41 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Share Posted May 10, 2012 We back onto a cemetry and get allsorts in our yard on the feeders. we thought it was great when this fellow started visiting we had bluetits nesting in one of our boxes, then saw that something had been having a go at trying to get into it! we thought squirrels cos we get quite a few in the yard, the next pics reveal the culprit!!! Nice pics though, and you've learned what many Bird lovers don't realise, and that's that many of the 'cute little birds' are not averse to a bit of canibalism. I was gong to wring it because there were a load of crows perched about watching intently, and my mate stopped me. He asked me why I was going to do it, so I told him it was as good as f****d the minute we walked away, so was going to put it out of it's misery. He was still intent that he didn't want me to do it so I put it back where we found it and walked away. As soon as we were 20 yards away, down they swooped. My mate was amazed. Couldn't comprehend why the crows were bullying it. I told him they weren't bullying it, they intended to rip it apart and eat it! Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I told him they weren't bullying it, they intended to rip it apart and eat it! a few years ago a young girl knocked on my door with a young rabbit full of mitsy, i went to pull its neck and she burst into tears and ran off with it (perhaps i could have been a bit more sensative ) anyhow a couple of weeks later her mother came knocking at my door asking if i would come round and kill there 2 pet rabbits as they had mitsy now and she had already spent a fortune at the vets trying to save the original one, lesson learnt 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
