It would cost me more than 40 quid for a vasectomy here & seriously 50 quid for a spay here is a give away , it depends where in the uk you are as to prices for neutering etc

Hull and East Riding ferret rescue folded several years back :hmm: although the site is still up that might explain the low prices

As for kits try Selby livestock auctions on a Saturday they'll be flooded out with them in the next few weeks

That rescue is still up and running as far as i know.

The price is for the ferrets to be castrated/spayed. Rescues will get it done at discount rate as they have loads done. They still loose out with food bills etc.

Much better to have em all done IMO, can have them all living together all year round (without jills coming into season, hobs fighting) not to mention the smell

Hull & East Riding Ferret Rescue is still up and running. They do get kits in, just depends on when someone dumps them with them. They aren't keen on re-homing them for working though as they have so many dumped workers left for them to deal with.

north east ferret rescue will only send out a ferret if it is neutered. as any rescue will tell you it is to abate the amount of ferrets around that are callously disbanded at the end of each season without a care from the owners.they only charge £30 per ferret and this barley covers the costs of neutering at the vets ! bearing in mind the cost of feeding the ferret at the rescue till it is re-homed has to be added into the costs . if you dont want to breed it is a worry free cost no jill jabs or vets bills ontop of the cost of the ferret

Well said Andy.

The cost from the North East Ferret Rescue, for a neutered ferret is very cheap indeed, and we have had ferrets live to 15 years old, so its not a lot of money.

Contact number for North East Ferret Rescue is

Prudhoe, Northumberland,

They both work, so keep trying if you don't get an answer straight away.

That's fine if your wanting a pet no problems with them coming into season ,But say you pays your forty quid and it wont look at a hole or even worse its a cracking worker you can breed off it for replacements or to keep the strain going .

this is what im thinking no intention of breeding but like to leave my options open and as im after 2 jills dont fancy forking out 100 notes for a pair of ferrets that may not even work.

i have a 1yr old jill who is a great little ferret but after these for my lad and just spent a fortune kitting him out with the rest of the gear he needs as i thought id be able to pick some ferrets up no prob`s

I take it your struggling to find kits in your area?

If anyone is willing to help the lad out with a couple of kits in the Staffordshire/manchester/Liverpool area then I will deliver them to Hull free of charge.

Well I am a service engineer and work all over the north west. Occasionally Yorkshire.

If you can find a couple of kits over this way then I have no problem dropping you them off to help the lad out.
