StevoSmith 147
In light of recent events in joe public and other things i would sugguest that anyone who goes shooting on thier permissions should ring pc plod before you go out...this not only covers your back but if plod gets a call from joe public they know it's you and save ARU showing up and sticking a H&K in your face and making you cr@p your pants.....this is aimed at the young and new shooters as most of the experianced guys know this is a must......just be careful guys cause sh*t can drop on you faster than you may imagine........i shoot right next door to police helipad so this is a must for me Quote Link to post

tegater 789
In this free society, and without breaking any laws, I refuse to notify the police when I go shooting, as I have permission, and that is recorded on my fac. When the law changes so that I have too, then I will. I shoot most days of the week over several thousand acres, and have never had the police turn out to me at any time. I understand some may feel the need to, but it is not a legal requirement and the cops cannot stick an H and K in your face without substantial evidence or an honestly held belief you are a threat to them. End of.. 5 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
To inform your local plod force. Dial 101. When you get through to the switchboard operator, tell them that you wish to speak to the control room Tell the control room that you are shooting vermin with landowners permission at the location you are shooting, the time and what you are using. Local Plod force will then give you a reference number, make a note of it. If you carry a mobile with you, give them that number as well! I do this every time I go shooting as I have had the police called to where I was shooting before. They rang me, found it was me who had been spotted, rang the house sitter up and told them I had notified them, I was allowed to shoot there and basically tough! tegater 789
Not criticizing you Steve, I just refuse to do it. It is not because I have an issue with the cops because I support them 100%. It is because I disagree with the way that police "opinions" influence some shooters, and not the application of the law. Cars get used in crime, but I don't notify the cops everytime I go out in my car! 2 Quote Link to post
