zini 1,939
Sorry to hear all this as happened Tony. I really hope that you manage to get your Ultra back buddy. You looked so happy when i saw you shooting it when i was up shooting rabbits with you. I'm afraid that in this day and age after the recent shootings in the news over seas there's are a lot of so called do gooders that just love to call 999 if they think that they can potentially foil the next human massacrer. Not a bad problem if you think about it. There is also on the other hand the pains that just are very ill informed about what we do and what we are all about and love nothing more than to stop our sport totally. See you soon buddy. Si. porkycrook 466
Phantom, sorry i am in need of sleep but can't due to the pain so might be a "blonde" moment but what does CMHT stand for. I've no idea what you have been through in the last few years as not been a member that long, so if CMHT is short for something personal just tell me to naff off. ATVB Roger Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
Thanks guy's for your kind comments. For those of you that don't know me, I had a breakdown after major surgery, loosing my job (Close Protection that I loved dearly) and my sister dying everything happened within a very short time span this led to a breakdown of my 20+ years of marriage and left me homeless for a while. The CMHT is the Community Mental Health Team, they offered guidance, monitoring and support in my recovery period until they felt I no longer required it. What got my back up most of all is that the people who have dealt with me never felt threatened by the presance of my guns, most asked about them, some even handled them, but now after I have been discharged from their care they decide to make wild allegations to the police regarding my guns! I shall get to the bottom of it and I intend on bringing it to a full satisfactory conclusion, they broke my Patient Confidentiality and next to the Hypocratic Oath, Patient confidentiality is their Holy Grail! I lost my job because I accidently broke a Patient's Confidentiality. So this to me stinks of double standards? I'm expecting one huge kissass appology from them. Si, Yes, I will eventually get the Ultra back The police have had it over a year now and now I have been discharged from the CMHT, I feel that I now have a good chance of gaining the FAC, so After June, I'm looking at a 10 shot conversion for the S200, a gun safe for 4 rifles and my pistols then applying for the FAC, Even if I have to Join the local FA Club at least I'll be able to shoot it again Looking forwards to seeing you again in a few weeks Take care Tony Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
You know what it is Tony, they like you so much they want to keep looking after you! So they will make things up and get the police involved so you think you need their help again! Quote Link to post
PeakOil 352
Good luck with getting your guns back. One thing I will add from my own experiences of dealing with public sector jobsworths is think about sending a proper letter to your MP. Nothing seems to put the fear of God in to public sector jobsworths as much as a ministerial enquiry with their name(s) on it being received higher up the chain of command. Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
could you not have the ultra sent to a local gunsmiths to have it detuned then given back to you? or have the gun given to a friend who has an fac get them to take it to a gunsmiths and detune then "buy" it back off them? Once an airgun's been registered on ticket, in the eyes of the law it's always classed as a firearm, no matter if it's doing over 12 or not, Lewis. Quote Link to post
Lewis Ste 245
Oh didn't know that andy but could they not do the first one and have it sent to a gunsmiths at his cost? Quote Link to post

Very good advice there Sir They gave me all my guns back and the X-bow (even though they didn't take the prod with em *fuckwit icon here* Oh didn't know that andy but could they not do the first one and have it sent to a gunsmiths at his cost? I've already tried that route Lewis The second they flagged it at 13.04 ft/lbs that was it's fate sealed even if it was reduced by a smith (I even tried getting BSA to redo it) down to 0.5 ft/lb I would still need the FAC to have it in my possession. I can sell it to someone who has a slot on their ticket but who really wants a FAC-Air that does less than 1.50 ft/lbs over the legal limit. Quote Link to post

I think I would be taking legal advice on this one ,I used to own a theoben rapid 7 mk1 that had previously been seized by fife police for being over 12 ft/lb they released it to an rfd in crossgates fife where work was done to reduce its power to within the legal limit and threadloc sealant was applied to the allen key adjuster so that it could not be easily adjusted before it was returned to its owner who sold it to me this gun was not on my fac and was sold on this site to another member a while back. Most airguns can perform power in excess of 12ft/lb but if set up properly they are not required to be on a firearms certificate.I think that the police have no lawful reason not to release your gun to an rfd so that work can be carried out to reduce the power to within the legal limit before returning it to you,you will have to foot the bill from the rfd though. Mawders 595
Agree with last post, phantom sorry to hear of your troubles, seems you have had a lonely horrid time that most of us won't even comprehend. I think you need to make fresh enquiries with your local force and maybe seek free legal advice if you can't afford a solicitor, most offer free consultation where they will tell you if they can help or not. I KNOW forces vary with what they do with a over power limit air weapon. You have nothing to lose enquiring mate! Back to topic at hand don't let them get you down, laugh and move on. Everyone is duty bound in some way to investigate if told to attend but your not doing anything wrong so don't worry! Atb Mawders Quote Link to post
Baghdadnights 150
Keep thinking positive Phantom don't let them bring you down bud. Im in a dark hole at the moment but I'll pull myself out one way or another Atb Kev 1 Quote Link to post
