Phantom 631
Hi guy's its been a while since I have started a thread, been keeping myself to myself and pointing people in the right direction and helping out those who have asked me for help and guidance. Some of you know what I've been through the last 3 or 4 years and because of those things especially this year and last I've not really had the opportunity to get much hunting done. Three weeks ago I went out with another forum member and we did some target work and such but nothing in the way of hunting apart from a bit of stalking and trying some ranging in both daylight and dusk. This particular night in my cemetery permission we had a visitor, it was the Vicar and she had seen my warning sign on the gates and was very pleased to see that I had not given up on the place and she seemed to welcome the fact that I had Chris with me as two guns are generally far better than one and I had him with me to help get back on top of the broblem. I must admit, it's nice to be appreciated for doing what we do rather than the abuse that newcommers to the country usually give me. Speaking of newcommers, another friend had offered to drive me back to the perm's two weeks ago as long as he could 'have a go with the rifles' I agreed but until he decides to learn what I can teach him, all he got to have a go with on live quarry was an unloaded and cocked S200 I stand by what I've always said, You have to kill thousands of little paper targets before I'll let you try to kill a creature. Anyways Once I had the S200's zero checked and confirmed, I let heim loose on some paper bullseyes. While we were doing this a woman and her son (I'd not seen either of them before and I know and speak to most of the dog walkers) walking with a couple of very over weight labradors. They had heard me zeroing my springer (put a different scope on it and I needed to reaquaint myself with the Beast). The woman got down on all fours and looked at me through the bare bit below the greenary of the conifers. She then walked as far as the gate; read my warning sign and then walked back, again bobbed down and asked if what I was doing was legal I replied that "I working on behalf of the Church, shooting the Rabits because of the amount of damage they are causing and the danget that the pose'. She walked off with her son and the two labs dragging behind them. I said to my non-shooting partner; "Think we'll have a visitors shortly" "Who from" he replied and I said "Either a couple of the local Constabulary, an ARU or Oscar99" I wasn't fussed, I've dealt with them before and I know full well that even if I had given the local nick a call, they are Duty Bound" to investigate all 999 calls regardless. I had a feeling this woman wouldn't be using either the 0845 orthe 101 number by the speed she left the area. "Anyways, lets go sit in the car and have a coffee" I said, "what about the gun's" he said as I zipped up the springer and put it away. Bring the S200 and leave it just inside the gate on the ground so I can keep a good eye on it". So thats what happened. Just as we had settled down with the coffee, I saw the nose of a Police car cautiously enter Common Lane "Told yah" I said. Sure enough the car turned and headed our way. As the car slowed I could see the occupant was a WPC that I've known for quite a few years and have even sat in her house while supping coffee with her partner and her. I got out the car and walked over to Lynne with a friendly smile and she immediately called off the Dogs that were on route down the M62 heading our way and let them know they could go back to the biggie that almost every armed officer in the region was dealing with (drug deal went south and people got shot somewher in the Goole area). We chatted and I went to get my permission slip etc from my bag in the cemetery, leaving the gun where she could plainly see what it was and where it was Now other officers haven't actually asked to see it, even after I've voluntered it, but because this was a tripple nine call she went as far as viewing it AND contacting the person who had on behalf of the Church Parish Council signed the permission form. After David had confirmed I was authorised to be on there, she did a PNC check on my mates 4x4! Was she after another easy coller like in January 2011? Damn F G right she was! Anyways back to the purpose of THIS particular thread! Now my life is more or less 'back on track', I was discharged from the CMHT (yeah thats right, Nutter with a gun I hear you scream ) I asked to be referred to another service due to a slight problem that rears it's ugly head now and again. Well It's now been months and I have not hear anything from the other service/department yet; HOWEVER this afternoon, I got a phone call from the local Constabulary saying that they had received from the NHS allegations that I have a NUMBER of UNLICENSED FIREARMS in my appartment! And to cap it all this particular Officer has apparently been to visit me on a few occasions while I've been out. Apparently he wants to have a chat with me about my guns, I told him to have a chat with his Sargent (same duty as him) and a word with Lynne as they are both aware of what I have. He ASKED me if there was anything else he needed, would he be okay to call round, well my blood was already boiling regarding these allegations and the fact that my Patient Confidentiality has been breeched unnessicerally (sp?) But I remained calm enough to say "Yeah, Sure, you can pop round anytime bring a chrono with you if you wish save you needing to carry my guns out! No wonder the neighbours don't talk, they probably think I'm some "Hardened Criminal" with the uniform knocking on my door! Now first and formost they should get their facts correct, none of my guns (apart from the one in the gunsafe at Beverley Police Station since Jan 2011) require an FAC or SGC. Secondly, the CMHT used to regularly visit me at both my worst and as I got better at my appartment and non of them felt threatened by my guns or myself; so why the feck have the NHS suddenly after nearly four years broken my Patient Confidentiality and contacted the police? I've already had my guns taken away for testing and given them all back bar the one thats in police storage until I get my FAC. It just shows how scared people can be; Simply because they are "Ill informed and scared sh!teless by the media" So thanks for reading, writing it down has let me get it off my chest and I am now once again calm Tony 2 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
They are unlicensed firearms, due to the fact you do not require a license to own them, so you can be sat there chatting to Napoleon and Julius Caesar quite happily and you can still own these weapons, might be nice to get a crossbow though, just to make them really worried! Smokey 1 56
dear lord, what a pain in the ass. One of my permissions I have to speak to the armed officers across the rail track every time before I walk onto the farm to shoot otherwise they would be all over me in minutes. To be fair most of them want to find out what I am shooting and how many bunnies I manage to get, they seem to be more interested than bothered. Some folk are just blind to real life and infected by the crap the media churn out. You have permission, are helping reduce a real problem and are responsible with your air rifles, Bollocks to them, keep doing thing by the law and most importantly keep enjoying it Smokey Quote Link to post
