16 week old lurcher pup barking and yelping

Iv got a 16 week old lurcher , I got him from 8 weeks and I'm wanting to work him! Recently he seems to have got a load of confidence out of no where and has started barking and yelping at other dogs and people! He doesn't do it constantly sometimes we go out and he does it and then other times he doesn't! I'm new to the game but I know a dog that barks a lot is no good for taking out lamping! Do you think iv got a big problem or do you reckon he will grow out of it ? Please help

its a pup the more it sees the more confident and less excited it becomes,everything will work out given time and effort. a very good cross that by the way, will do you proud

sounds a nice cross , touch of brains and a touch of fire, better to socialise them now, i exspect he will be better socialising off the lead. he will settle down just get him use to things still very young and curious . the more you expose him to other dogs he will stop the barking. all the best

Probably the opposite of what you think mate he's probably lacking confidence, sounds like he needs in amongst a bit more things mate take him in the car down the shops walk him in amongst more things take him to shows etc should soon stop

Sounds like a really decent cross mate.

 

Get it out as much as you can and see as many different sights and sounds

It's a dog mate. Just forget about it. Don't overthink it or make a big issue of it and enjoy your pup!

Doesn't sound like confidence, sounds like anxiousness, possibly frustration....Confidence Doesn't manifest itself as noise in a dog...Its exactly the opposite....
