Mawders 595
Awesome vid Si, glad to see your favouring the .22. I've always used .22 but lately have been getting the urge to go .177 to see what all the fuss is about. Glad to say ive slapped myself and sticking put with .22. Guess I am used to shooting using that calibre. End result is the same with whatever calibre people choose if the shooter does their bit! Keep up the awesome vids mate. Phil. Quote Link to post

Thanks Phil, Yes both calibres do the job 100% for hunting vermin, but the .177 is obviously the calibre for FT and HFT. They both have their pro's and con's but as you say its what you like the best i think. Si. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
great vid as always si.... makes me wanna go whack some crows... havent really done any since getting back into the airguns No time like the present pal funny thing is i live right next to a rookery and i cant touch them You are not trying to tame them Kanny, touch them indeed! What tickle them on the head and get them to say "Who's a pretty birdy" then? Some superb shooting as usual Si and sorry I have not been making my usual inane comments on your posts. I have just thought other people have written what I was going to say, so I agree with them, except those who disagree with him, when I disagree with those who disagree so I agree, I think!  How are you getting on with the XVI? Any of the reported reliability issues that has plagued this gun in all it's incarnations? IE More leaks than Wales on St David's day? Edited May 16, 2012 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
paulk73 151
Great vid Si.....nice to see the diff hold overs with the .177 100 and EB XVI .22 at roughly same distance....shows to people how much of a diff the .177 is compared to the .22 Yes true Steve, It takes a lot more knowledge of your combo to make accurate shots at different ranges with a .22 calibre pellet. Sitting on your zero is fine but making long range shots is where the skill is in with .22 calibre shooting. I think that's why you get the old rumour that so many believe in that a .177 is more accurate than a .22. This rumour is utter rubbish and both calibres are as accurate as each other. Where the in- accuracies come in is with the shooter themselves not having the practice and understanding of the ballistics involved to master the calibre. Si. ive noticed that my .22 hw 100 is very accurate at distances far in excess of that i would use on live quarry. i use accupel and superfield. and i find super field actually tighten up slightly after 25 yrds. even so i was considering changing cal. i dont even know why?????? i was just thinking about it. i have the old hw 100 t. but i was wanting the kt. maybe i should just change model but stay with the .22 Quote Link to post
