They might be a pair of pricks but 1 of them is an ex world heavyweight champion and the other just gave the long standing heavyweight champion his best fight for years....................name a bette

For those who slag off haye, he was undisputed cruiser weight champ. Only when there was no one else left he moved up a weight and beat much bigger guys. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

haye will win. but we should all get behind david price in the future lads hes a proper top lad and has got a good chance of being world champ. tyson furys scared to death of him

ok :whistling:

Why do you not think a fighter who is a world champion is world class then  ..........as far as im concerned any fighter who is in the top 10 is world class thats the whole point of having ratings,if theres only 1 world class fighter in the world we dont really have a sport !

ok then gnash WBA WBC WBU all three world titles which is held in high esteem or just a world title doth the boxer become world class

So name a world class heavyweight in todays era apart from the Klitchkos then ?????

This is the world we live in so you have to base " world class " on whoevers out there..............would Haye have been a world champion in the 60,s no of course he wouldnt......saying that the likes of Price,Chisora,Fury would probably not even have been pro boxers in the 60,s.......................the era we are in is the weakest its ever been hence names like Price/Fury/Chisora can mix it at world level.

They are above national level fighters and one of them has fought for a world title.....what do we call them then this is the era we currently find ourself !....

It works both ways look at fighters like Earnie Shavers,Ron Lyle,Jerry Quarry they would of been unbeatable in todays era but they was around in a paticularly strong era and never won a world title between them...does that make Haye a better fighter because he has won a world title, course it doesnt......you just got to keep it realistic.

i base my jugement on what i see and take into account many things , , ive watched many mediocre boxers turn pro on the back of a good run in run aba's just because the compertition at the time is weak it dont make them any better , there is world class AND THEN WORLD CLASS just think the heavy weight champioship gets diluted ,

No thats absolutely right you cannot compare eras......and for that reason theres no point saying fighters like Chisora,Haye,Fury etc are not world class because they are in todays times.....in yesterdays they wouldnt of been but we dont live in yesterdays era we live in todays.

Look lets not kid ourself......guys like Fury,Price even the Klitchkos are only where they are because of their sheer size they are not there because of their skills and ability............they are good basic boxers who are extremely hard to beat.....ive been saying for years now there should be a super heavyweight division, maybe 230lb and above......when we realise a guy like Muhammad Ali,Floyd Patterson or Marciano probably would not of stood a chance in a heavyweight fight against robotic fighters like the Klitchkos i think its safe to assume somethings wrong somewhere.................but in todays times average fighters can and do reach world level.....and thats my point.

ali would have destroyed either klitchko gnash .they have nothing in theyre tool box to have ever caused him any problems ,his chin which was prob his best asset ,would never have been bothered by either of them ,he was way to quick for them and would have stopped either one of them quite easy .he would have over whelmed them .he destroyed foreman and he was probably a little over his best at that time as well and niether klitchko ever had the power george had .we only have to look at the probs chisawra caused klitchko to realise ali would have destroyed them just look at how ali handled shavers and ellis . they were big fit men good hands and very powerfull .as for below average fighters winning world titles thats always happening look at john tate .or gerry coetzee .as for haye being world class i think hes a dud and he wouldnt beat ali as he is now .i hope your more complimentary of ty gnash when hes world champion mate . he can only fight whos put in front of him ,and he cant do any more than beat em .his management and promoters have a plan set out thats hopefully going to lead to a world title .frank bruno ,once visited larry holmes ( who was one of the all time greats) frank visited the bathroom and larry had solid gold taps ,he asked larry for some advice ,because he wanted the same wealth ,larrys advice was fight as many stiffs as you can .both frank and larry fought loads of over the hill taxi drivers . it happens thats buisiness .as for frank warren. marshy pulled instead of squeezing . on a serious note gnash i do enjoy the banter with you mate ,its difficult to come across on the net without it looking as if your having a go .

Brookie i enjoy reading your posts ive never once slated Fury i forget now if he,s your brother cousin or what the relationship is but the fact i havent slated him isnt out of politeness its because i understand the times we live in hence i know Fury has a good chance of being a world class fighter....it wouldnt surprise me one bit if he picked up a world title somewhere along the line.....does that make him a great fighter of course it doesnt but what it would make him is a world class fighter in this era.....

Gonetoearth you cant seem to understand that a fighter who fights at British level is a British class fighter....a fighter who fights at European level is a European class fighter......and yes a fighter who fights at World level is a World class fighter...it doesnt mean they are all time greats or even particularly good fighters it merely describes the class in which they operate, hence Haye and Chisora who are currently operating at World level are World class fighters, simple.

Brookie you wont find a bigger Ali fan than me i believe he was the greatest heavyweight in history by some distance.....would he have beaten the Klitchkos yes in reality probably i guess i was just trying to make the point how average fighters in one era can be tough opposition in another era...Gerry Cooney never won a world title but he was a completely different fighter to todays freakish sized heavyweights, these Klitchkos are solid hard to beat fighters who dont rely on power like Cooney did, they rely on their physical advantages and without them they would be half the fighters they are.Ali would of destroyed Cooney in short order but i think he would of had a tougher fight out of the Klitchkos.

As regards Frank dont believe everything you read in books mate it all makes great reading but the reality is often not quite so exciting....As for Marsh, again, makes interesting reading and i have my own thoughts on this suffice to say i believe Terry got the right outcome in the end.

Anyway, like ive said before i hope Fury has a succesful career and i hope your right...good to hear your thoughts
