Wouldn't line the pockets of the game fair organisers , don't have a clue about lurchers or terriers and who ever picked the lurcher judge should be shot

what was wrong with her?, have you done much judging yourself chid

As she ever worked a dog ? Judges should be people who know how dogs work all legal quarry , how can somebody judge a fox class for instance with no knowledge of ever running a fox ... And no I've never been invited to judge at a show , unless your offering lol

very interesting reading this thread-----lads , just forget it, its only fun , if you want to keep winning , buy a purebred and race it at shelbourne or somewhere closer to you , if these people are c

thought the whole day was shit can't say i was cheated on anything because all i took was a terrier never entered him in anything but afew mates that had good working lurchers in the shows where abit

Just to add this isn't a personal attack at Rose , spoke to both her and her mum at shows before they are very nice people , organisers should be getting judges that know how to work there hounds

Billy Harpers "friends from castlederg" are no friends of his. Billy does not communicate with them whatsoever. And how do you claim Billy is a cheat? Just because his 3 dogs won the racing and many people nowadays cannot take their beatings? what, i suppose his blade dog is supposed to be an aeroplane and socks a cheeta?

the only reason he won so much was because he cheated running that dog in the whippets thats not a whippet, his mate greyhounds slaughtered all around them and billys dog got a home run.

people cant take CHEATING not BEATING kristy.

as usual we went to ballywalter show never seen as many new faces with greyhiunds and nonped whippets there before a man called billy harper and some friend of his are pure cheaters his friend from castel derg was there with 3 greyhounds running how can this keep happening we heard the arguing and language from our van parked near them. not good ! fighting dogs that are supposed to be racing shouldnt be there there was a black one that are girl raced with blinkers on its head fough from start to the end and took out 3 dogs somebody said it was barred from southern ireland but she comes up here and races it ! far to dear in with our family ticket at 25 brick ! for what ? old men firing loud guns for 20 minutes wdf is that about we watched the racing which went on and on with standing about my wife thought there was to many dogs trying to run at once 6 !

bottom line is we wont be back and we hope the same crap isnt going to happen at antrim

WNM,

What a jaundiced view for your £25 you got a £15 Voucher for Shanes and a €20 voucher for Birr Free ringside parking inside the fair and a free programme - which if you had taken time to read would have shown you that there was a continuous of main arena entertainment from 10.00 to 5.30 plus 164 stands with lots of bargains. AND for your own interest events the chance to win excellent trophies, and prizes - only bettered by our fairs at Shanes & Birr. I sometimes despair of lurcher people like you, All you seem to do is want to bitch about things.

Again to set the record straight billy hapur has nothing to do with MY whippet who won the racing yesterday..I own him.and why didn't someone come to me if they had issues.yes sox is tall n lengthy..which I have went to whippet folk with concerns and they assured me that you can get differnt shapes and sizes.he has been shown and raced at the whippet club and has also got 3 puppy championships and won other classes..I would have had no problem whatsoever with someone coming to me with an issue..and as for the claim that billy harpur turned up with the lynchs or associated with them.pure bull***t as there is no association there at all belive me.I had a man who has shown at crufts etc looking at sox and he himself said he is perfect and is no doubt of him being a whippet.like a said this has nothing whatsoever to do with billy harpur..am sure next blade and tico will be accused of being greyhounds as they won too which won't be a surprise as when dannyboi was racing and winning there was even slabbering that he was a greyhound.if there was issues regarding my dog someone should have came to me and addressed them.

well kristy im addressing you now who breed the "whippet" ? and did your daddy not get the "whippet" for you? was ur dad caught out with a grew last year hahaha once a cheat always a cheat why would ye bother?

never seen any of the final's like i said on the other thread to albertj suppose the filth watching never helped the classes and thats maybe why i thought it was poor because the classes i was interested in where dropped but thinking about it reckon it was maybe for the best to try and stop anyone else getting in bother with the law

That is the man lynch an he's been comin to the shows a brave while just didn't turn up outa the blue an in my opinion I thhot the blue 1 was a greyhound but who's 2 prove it all I no it got a good run it was up against a good lurcher an if he was in his prime the greyhounds wudnta had a chance an if they went to go 2 a over all they wuda been beat by a under 23inch dog

are you for real? my bitch is seriously fast, she can lift rabbits on the lamp 70 yards away,if ye put her against the slowest greyhound in the country he would blow her away ye silly - - - - !

You still have not answered the question who bred the dog?

A TRIBUTE TO THE LATE JIMMY SCOTT, A TOP DOGGIE MAN IN OUR COUNTRY SPORTS FRATERNITY, WHO LEFT THIS WORLD ON Christmas Day.   I Am Free Do not grieve for me now my friends and family, I am free. I am following the path God Laid for me. I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all.   I could not stay another day to show, to live , to hunt, to fish or play. I found my peace at close of day. Be not burdened with this time of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief. Do not lengthen it now with undue grief.   Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me. God wanted me now, He set me free.   From all in Country Sports Margaret Mc Stay

The Combined Clubs Dog Show and Northern Ireland Champion of Champions Saturday 7thSeptember 24
Laurencetown is famous for its green fields, ancient buildings, walled gardens and extensive lawns stretching down to the River Bann. But as well as these famous landmarks, Laurencetown can add another string to its bow by adding the annual Combined Clubs Dog Show and Northern Ireland Champion of Champions to its attractions and venue.
Saturday was one of the warmest days of the year with the sun shinning down continuously. I got burned alive but all well worth it. Our Country Sportsmen, women and children came out to this now annual dog show to enjoy the last days of the summer sunshine.
Our summer Dog shows have become canine excursions from all parts of the country North and South of the Border. Saturday was no exception with a good turnout of Terriers, Lurchers, Whippets and Strong dogs.
And wait for it, the big surprise of the day and what a pleasant surprise that was. The McGrath Racing Club arrived unexpectedly for a family day out to support the show. And guess what they acted on the spot with an impromptu few races to the joy of many of the racing fraternity at the show.
The childrens handling class was first on the list and judged by Marian Cree. What a turnout of children in the ring on Saturday. I can still see the smile on Clodagh Gentle face on winning 1st with her   Whippet Clive. These young boys and girls are our sportsmen and women of tomorrow. I have no doubt in my mind that these little people will carry on the sport after our day. Well done Marian and congratulations to all.

LBKs DOG SHOW AND RACEDAY SUNDAY 1stSEPTEMBER 24
Scrabo Tower is one of Northern Irelands most iconic landmarks and stands majestically on the hill 540 feet above sea level. Beneath the pathway to Scrabo Tower lies the famous family run farm Scrabo Cottage Farm with its beautiful landscapes, scenic views, and a birds eye view right across Belfast. This was the venue for the LBKs Dog Show and Race day Sunday 1stSeptember 24.
As venues go for shows, this was up there among the best. I can honestly say I have never seen such a display of Plaques, Trophys and first class Rosettes on display, and all up for grabs on the day. Dogs and Bitches in every category were split up and each allocated their own Championship and reserve and at the end of the day an Overall Champion and Reserve.
Everything was planned meticulously, and all of the day went without a hitch. The rings were well spaced out, toilet, Burger stand, Country Sports stand, brilliant racetrack, and a bouncy castle for the wee people.
The views from this venue were to die for. With the shadow of Scrabo looking down on us, we had a clear view right across Belfast and beyond. This venue being cited on a hill, there was a cool breeze all day with small specks of rain in between.
It was nice to meet up with so many like minded people in the country sports fraternity. I had the pleasure of been introduced too renowned and international terrier judge Mr Robert Booth. What a gentleman he was. We had a nice conversation and he told me he loved Ireland and that he lived in County Tipperary for some time and knew the country quite well. Robert also presented Harry John Digging with a lovely Trophy set on a wooden stand for reaching out his friendship to him and to commemorate his time in Northern Ireland. What a lovely gesture.
It was a day of good will and presentations when Harry John Digging presented Peter Morgan with a lovely plaque for respect for running his shows. What better man with a lifetime of experience.
Niall O Cloghan and his sons were on site with their now very popular Terrier Maze. As the work in the field will begin shortly, It was great to see the excitement of the working terrier men when their prized terriers negotiated the Terrier Maze with speed and come out the other side to win the fastest time championship. This accolade went to Jed Donagh with PiP and Reserve to Lee Spiers with Buddy. Well done team O Cloghan.
Time passes so quickly, very soon it was Race time.

The McGrath Racing team Biddy, Michael, Jack, and Anthony, you are tops. You set the place a light with your professionalism and experience and run the racing so effective and efficiently on the day. There is a lot of hard work goes into running racing and all credit goes to team Mc Grath.
And Finally, Finally, Harry John Digging you were definitely the King of Scrabo on Sunday and in a league of your own. Along with your back up angel Gail Ross, who pulled out all the stops to make everything run so smoothly, and Sam Ross the photographer who took some lovely photographs, you brought town and country North and South of the border together for another great sporting day out.
You are a shinning light in our Country Sport traditions and for a first time show and venue, it was excellent and without contradiction.  Harry John Digging you should be proud of the work you done on Sunday. Thank you for a day full of joy and excitement and roll on 2025 for more of the same.
