Hi, this looks like a great place to get good information on my new hobby which is shooting.

I say new but I’ve been shooting air rifles since I was 13 and joined the army at 17 where I trained as a sniper and a GPMG machine gunner. When I left the army in 2001 I was more interested in women and beer than going back to my old hobby of air rifle shooting . I’m 32 this month and now have 2 kids. I’m getting married at the end of the month so instead of getting depressed and thinking my life is over I decided on taking my old hobby back up.(Still like Beer But not sure about women).

 

I’ve been a member of a local rifle and pistol club for just over a year now, and I have just had my home inspection for my firearms licence, which went well. The firearms officer told me that after the home inspection it should take about 5-6 weeks before I get my licence . Although other people have told me not to hold my breath on that.

Me and my Dad have been granted permission to shoot FAC air rifles and shotguns on 35 acres of land just outside of Bristol which is great news, But before I start to shoot there I want to get liability insurance and want so advise on where to get the best insurance from?

I still Have alot to learn about my new hobby so I will appreciate any info and advise that is given to me.

 

P.S Just encase my missus comes across this page I Love you very much and I was only joking about the above statment.
