Up sticks and leave !!!

Any body on here just up sticks and moved away from there ( home ) ??? As I am thinking of moving from Portsmouth where all my family are to south Wales !!! Leavening older kids parents friends but hopefully for a better life . Has any one done this does it work ??????

left home at 16 mate 45 now and never been back,if you want it that bad nothing going to stop you as said you makes your own choices mate :thumbs: Edited by long-tail

doin the same next year -- i`m just gonna crack on with if you dont try it you`ll never know.. mines more of an early semi retirement near to the coast so i can do some sea fishing .. i aint got to make a living out of once place i could live anywhr so thats not really a worry for me ..

That's what I'm trying for semi retirement no mortgage !!!! But it's a big move !

Ive been trying to talk myself into it for a number of years now.....think id love it for 6 months then start to miss the basic things that we all take for granted.....for me it would be abroad so not like you can have a quick drive back to what you know every once in a while.....

Had spells away from home before and always eventually started missing my own people and my own places and ways of life........to commit to doing it on a permanent basis is a big decision that personally i,ll probably do one day but put off a while yet......good luck in whatever you decide its a tempter for sure.

I know what you mean I have worked away a lot over the years for the job I want to give up spent a lot of time in France and thought about going there but after a couple of months missed my close family wife kids but I will be taking most of them with me !!

Left home from the northwest when I was 15 and now I'm 22, living in Scotland. My fiancé is from the northwest too and lives up here with me, baby too was born in England but now a sweaty sock :laugh:

if you`ve got to get a job then that could be a problem --- i do the antique fairs so its just a matter of loading op my van one of the big things for me is the house prices are so much cheaper -- my brother moved out to spain a few year back to run his own bar -- he says he`ll never come back its 2 hrs away on a plane from family..

No hopefully won't have to work just do bits & pieces . That's the reason for the move cheap house !!!! ;)

Im the wrong side of 25 now and married to a local lad, wont ever move back to the uk have plans to travel europe sometime once ive all my affairs in order
