northern lad 2,292
does clipping the coat not cause it to go soft/fluffy?i allways hand stripped my border terrier,he had a proper wirey long coat,a few years ago due to being busy with work etc i paid for him to be stripped by a proffesional groomer when i picked him up he had clearly been clipped from then his coat has been terrible, its like cotton wool not waterproof etc, does this not happen with say bedlington or deerhound crosses?atb dave Link to post

Nothing to do with the temp. Get rid of the old hair, give them a good grooming and next years coat comes in looking better ! Cheers. 3 Link to post
