what months of the year is the best to take the ferrets out?

Colder months are better, after the frosts, mainly because the vegetation that will snag nets and cover holes dies back and is easier to clear.

 

It's also better to stop when the number of kits below ground mean that you spend most of your day sitting on a box or digging because the ferrets are killing in more than they normally would.

It's the easiest way , I have to ferret all year though at work and during the warmer months it's nearly all digging

i am out on sunday been four times in the week hard work at the moment

yep any month with an R in it, pest control is one thing but if your doing it for sport your knackering yourself for the future if you carry on through.

some places i have to but others i leave unless a request from the land owner happens.
