NaTiiVe 29 Posted May 3, 2012 Report Share Posted May 3, 2012 hey i took my bitch for a walk today and shes only 6 month old and i dont want to run her yet but shes always got her head down sniffing and smelling and i dont want her to do this as she gets older, as we went for a walk we counted 13 rabbits and she only saw one but will she eventually stop smelling or will she keep doing it as she gets older. thanks Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173 Posted May 3, 2012 Report Share Posted May 3, 2012 A pup is born with a good sense of smell: that is what guides them to their dam's teats and the milk. So it is logical that a pup first discovers the world around it through smell, then later its sight. I like a pup that uses its nose when its out: shows it is switched on and interested in scent. Don't worry, as she grows up she will start to use her eyes and ears as well: it just takes time for all the senses to come together and work as one. 1 Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354 Posted May 3, 2012 Report Share Posted May 3, 2012 It's 6months old boys lol leave it be a pup..far to many dogs ruined because the owner felt the pressure into making the dog work..when the dog is ready you should know ..if its keen at 6months wait till its over a year, u won't think ya pup was as keen as you first thought lol be pulling ya arm off at anything that moves so to speak lol patience is the key Quote Link to post
