The best terrier I ever owned " the punisher " would give up a bone to another dog let them eat out of his bowl let kids pull him around wouldn't dare raise his lip to another dog would allow the ferr

IMO it all comes down to the individual dog and how dominant it is around other dogs and what other dogs it is around. Look at wild dogs if the alpha male goes for a lower ranking dog it will back dow

she'll be with me for duration mate

i was only saying what i seen of my mates dog a few years back used to run around with my other mates lurchers playing and as lurchers do when chasing each other they were nipping at each other while chasing each other then once this dog got older and he put it on a fox and it bit him back he didnt want to no its just what experence i have had and i think you only know when you put the lurcher to the test

I think dogs are totally different with prey than they are with dogs. A wise old dog will quite often stay away from other dogs..just not interested in them, they have nothing to offer, even sometimes act scared. But that red mist still comes down over the eyes when with quarry.

I've had a real nasty bully of a dog, would literally run at dogs and rag them to the ground. He got bit of a fox ONCE and would not go near it again. The same dog got bit on the face by a terrier. He never started another dog fight after that.

Funnily enough he was never a bother out working, ive found most dogs when working are too interested in the work than other dogs. And i would never trust dogs loose together in the back of a car anyway...always caged separately

in my eyes a lurcher shouldnt play, a lurcher shouldnt fight. and 9 times out of 10 all of my lurchers will back down to other dogs especially my terrier haha, they know not to fight, also a pet turns into an animal when it meets prey

" In my eyes a lurcher shouldn't play "

Possibly one of the most dull comments we've had
