Kye 77
Kyewhat sort of training do you do and how long before a fight do you start training in earnest? Hi mate,.. I train six days a week...but will take an extra day off if i feel tired...usulay as follows. Monday,...get up at 8;30 and run for 30-45 minutes...usulay jog until im sweating, then go for sprints until im winded, then jog until i get my breath back and repeat. At 2;00pm i train in BJJ, Wrestling, and Striking...then i go around FR's and we train Chest and Triceps...near a fight i may run for an extra 30 minutes. I dont eat any carbs after noon, and fat and sugar is taken out of my diet...the only fats i have are EFA's. Also all my carbs that i have in the morning are low Glycemic Index carbs (less than 55 on the GI scale) Tuesday...same as Monday, but no weights...maybe run in the afternoon as well. Wednesday...same as Monday, but when we train with weights we do Back and Bi-Ceps. Thursday....same as Tuesday. Friday...same as Monday, but we do Legs and Shoulders with weights... Saturday....three hours fight training, with about 30 minutes endurance training. Sunday...rest (thank f**k!..lol.) Two weeks before a fight i start something called "Super-Hydration"...i start of buy drinking one gallon of water a day...then six days before the fight (we have to make weight and weigh in the SAME day we fight!) i drink one gallon in the AM and one gallon in the PM...three days before the fight i go upto 2 gallons in the AM and two in the PM...i also go on a high alkaline, super-low sodium diet before i cut weight...i aim to drop 10lbs of fat (from my walking weight of 170lbs down to 160lbs) then cut the last five pounds in water...with the diet i shed water from my skin, instead of from my muscle and organs...after i weigh in i eat every hour until two hours before the fight, and i try and get at least 2 gallons of water in me...i stop fluid intake one hour before the fight...45 minutes before the fight i eat a Snickers or some other sugar rich candy bar...this causes an insulin spike that will last 20 minutes...i only fight for 3 x 3 minute rounds...nine minutes in total...so the 'crash' after i peak wont affect performance....everyone is different, but me and FR have finaly cracked it, and have got it down to a fine art know...oh, and just incase anyone is wondering FR is actualy my strength and condisioning coach. The last time i weighed in, i was 154.4lbs....i weighed myself 20 minutes before the fight and i was 171lbs I ease off running a week before the fight, to get my legs under me again, and if the fight is on a saturday (they always are!) i will do nothing more than break a quick sweat on thursday and friday....that way im eager and keen, and feel "pent-up" come saturday.. All the best... Kye,..

Simoman 110
When i get the DVD's of my fights i will get FR to put them up on here or YouTube or summat.Kye,.. Yeah, get them up :thumbs-up: Do you get pretty arsey cutting weight, I've been dieting for three days and would punch someone in the face for a twix Cutting weight and getting your body ready is a real science, can't beleive you have the weigh in on the DAY of the fight, wiould it not be better to have a couple of days to hydrate? Cheers Simon Edited May 15, 2007 by Simoman
Kye 77
Yeah, they usulay have the weigh in the day before the fight for Pro's...not always though...dispite what people say, you CANT fully hydrate in less than 48 hours....but the "Super-Hydration" method is the way to go...it also stops water rentenstion. I get a bit narky when im cutting,...its f*****g horrible...but you gotta do it...im never realy on a DIET as such, just cut out certain things at certain times. Kye,..
