StevoSmith 147
Only thing i can sugguest is to practice and then practice some more....night hunting is so much more difficult than daytime hunting...eventualy it will come naturaly and you wont find it an issue....it took me a fair while to get my eye in at night through my scope....its a subconsious thing in my case and prob everyone else's but it does come in time.. Hope it works out for you bud and you get in the ZONE 1 Quote Link to post

milegajo 595
Measuring and marking in the day pal. Perhaps sticks at yardage intervals with a flash of foil/something reflective? I have an NV setup but haven't used it in anger as I've been without a PCP since swapping the Raider for the tx200. StevoSmith do you use it on your springers?! Hoping to get out there on a good night soon but I can't really upload vids on my mobile bandwidth. Quote Link to post

kanny 20,648
a desent lazer 10 inch or more off the scope.. how do you mean 10in of the scope? Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
a desent lazer 10 inch or more off the scope.. how do you mean 10in of the scope? If you zero your laser with your scope at say 25 yards .At 15 and 30 yards say the laser will not be at the zero point when looking through the scope .If the laser is under the barrel say, at 15 yards the laser will apear under the zero piont at 30 yards it will apear above the zero piont. The bigger the gap between the scope and the laser the bigger the difference between the scopes zero and the position of the laser when viewed at different ranges. (above is better..) Edited May 3, 2012 by ghillies Quote Link to post
ghillies 209
a tip.. best use for cheap lasers like the 5-10 quiders (which btw are very similar to some 50-100 quid gun shop ones..euwww) is to put it right up by the silencer, on the side if needs be, zero it on the sight ret (without fireing a shot) and zero the laser some where beween 15-18 ish yards, (chairgun will put you very close) and you'll be on a rats head from a couple yars out to about 20 where the dot starts getting too big to judge. preferable get a three button cell one, take out one cell and put a small spring or summut inbetween the other two for use with night vision, it blairs out right bright otherwise.. fu five quid a bit of tape and a rubber band its well effective! edited in, make sure thay have side to side adjuster screws and not the three prong effect, three screws at the front, like the chines green star pointers, they are a fecofabitch to set up. kanny 20,648
ok you guys seem to be talking about a pointer type laser the one ive built is a 300mw 808nm laser simlar to the night hunter ir300 it has a wide feild of veiw on flood and can be focused also. i use it somewhere inbetween the two so my scope veiw is always full just like looking through a dedicated night scope . but because of the magnifications of the camera and the scope its easy to loose track of the distances i can understand now why people didnt beleave that the fox in zini's review of the night hunter digi add on wasnt 200yrd when infact it was..and because im not static hunting my refrences are always changing you also tend to loose a sense of depth abit like flat light as anyone whos been skiing will know.. milegajo it did cross my mind to set reflective markers out this is somthing im going to try. its early days yet im sure with a bit of time and pratice i will get it sussed. thanks for your comments guys anymore tips would greatly appriciated Edited May 3, 2012 by kanny Quote Link to post
