stealthy1 3,964
Was cleaning out the ferrets this morning when I heard rattle on the bottom of the cage while sweeping the wood shavings onto the shovel, being an inquisitive sort of person, I sought the source of the rattle, a quick firttle through the shavings, and hey presto, this is what I found I'll bet the amount of meat stuck to the pellet would look like a butchers shop to an ant Keep at them you lead flingers Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Aye, that's the one What do you reckon happened to that pellet you found? Deffinately tool marks across the dome and a very straight edge on one side. Was it one of your pellets Stealthy? or like that one of mine (shot by some useless dick with an underpowered gun) came from an old wounding? Tony Quote Link to post

Tony It was a spot on head shot that put the bunnie over without a twitch, I can only think the pellet hit the rabbits back teeth after it penetrated its head, cant think of anything sharp enough bone wise in the head that could split a .22 pellet, I like the fact you can see the rifling marks on the skirt Quote Link to post
gurtwurz 792
i got accused recently of gut shooting a rabbit by another guy that shoots one of my permissions, turned out to be a .177 so that was me in the clear. you sure it wasnt one of your fillings stealthy? i know how hungry a bloke can get while out mooching... cheers, wurz Quote Link to post
IanB 0
I've picked shotgun shot out of rabbits, pheasants, pigeons and deer when skinning them, picked rimfire slugs out of deer too, surprising what you find... Quote Link to post
web22 27
That's the pellet that killed the rabbit not an old one? That's quite some gouge on it,all the pellets I've ever found in the hutch have looked practically unused,I even found one a few months back in a rabbits side that my friend thought hadn't been used, though until recently I cut pellets out! Get much more given to me now the lads on here put me right... Edited May 3, 2012 by web22 Quote Link to post
Phantom 631
This is the one I found, .177 As you can see it's under the fat layer and the wound had been totally healed. I use .22 Made me so freaking mad that someone had been shooting them with obviously no ability to do so with either a vastly underpowered gun or from a ridiculously daft distance either way that fecking pellet should not have been let loose. My S200 at the moment is putting out 10.3 at the muzzle and at 60yards it still has over 4ft/lbs to transfer which I know would do far more damage than what that did one in the pic did.
