On the right terrain I think red are the fastest without doubt.

 

I also think fallow are faster than roe once they get going but roe are quicker threw the gears.

I totally agree with what your saying moscow about speed wise of the species, but preban when coursing them. I also think it depends on what type of ground your running them on as to a dog/dogs flooring them, as a lot of the larger species are caught in gutters dykes and against fences :thumbs:

Freelance the best dogs Ive had the pleasure to watch run floored them in the open and didnt wait for them to make mistakes or bounce, bigger species or not.

Have you had many red stags, what about fallow bucks do you think a dog should of been able to stop those in the open?

seen poor dogs take fallow......never took a red stag fair an square im afraid to say but ive took them through unorthodox methods shall we say.......... :thumbs: ..............pre hunting ban that is mate......had to put that in as i dont own dogs not since the ban........... :thumbs:

Personally and talking from a preban historical point of view, yes i have seen and do think good runners should pull and floor out in the open. When i said about larger species being caught in gutters dykes and against hedge/fence-lines i was just talking reds and hinds mostly :thumbs: Atb
