Tron 173
Remember Guys to use only wads made for steel shot. If you are using USED wads from lead loaded cartridges you will damage your barrels beyond repair, both the forcing and choke cones will be wrecked after a short time of firing. Cheers, Tron. 12gauge 2
i need to know what wads + powder & do you get more shot in steel as it is lighter or is it better to stick to lead Quote Link to post
hanky 0
First question is why do you want to load steel ? Wildfowling I guess ! Second question is it for economy ? Forget it ! Unless it is for wildfowling - dont bother - stick to lead I must admit that I have been reloading 3 1/2" 12g loads for the last 3 years and I would never go back to lead for wildfowling as the speed that you get from these loads are far superior to lead and all the bad press about steel is rubbish, factory loads are no comparison to the homeloads you can use which have been tried and tested, factory loads are not as fast as the loads you can homeload, " dont knock it till you have tried it " is my motto !!!!!
