There's a pond I fish that's got plenty in mixed with some big commons, a pure white one that's got to be over ten easy but its a crafty b*****d and keeps its distance from the baits.

The local pond i used to fish had a few koi and goldfish in, some whoppers an all. You could see them feeding but no matter what bait you tried they'd never bite :hmm: had a 12ftx8ft pond at home i wanted filling!

I used to fly fish the cub on retford canal all the time and there is pretty much everything in there including koi and goldfish. I would be surprised if there aren't breeding populations all over, but the bright ones would probably be easy targets for pike and other predators so I don't predict them thriving too long.

There was a pit that had a fountain full of them and when they bred the eggs, young fish got flushed into a burn but any we caught where black ?.

Plenty of koi knocking about, canal's have plenty of koi and goldfish, it's where people dump them when they decide to get rid of them, usually get picked off by pike and perch, but if they get to be big they are really good fish, you see them easy, but not easy to catch, anyone know the biggest caught in u.k. must be 20lb plus, like to see it.
