Simoman 110
I have two girls, four and nine months and mine is great. A Patterdale is no different to any other breed if raised with common sense and it knows its place within the house............. Quote Link to post

adam 0
Swan If your gonna get one make sure you get one from a puppy so you can bring it on right to be around kids, the problems normally come when someone brings in an adult dog that has not been socialised with children. Quote Link to post

mouse 282
both of mine are bomb proof with the kids.both sides adore each other which is how they should be together. Quote Link to post
bolohan 0
kids and terriers are partners in mischief good times. kids love their energy, patts love kids enthusiasm without dominance by the owner. they look after and take care of kids in the field or so they think. it's funny, the 9 year old thinks she is taking care of him ( the patterdale )and he thinks he's looking after her i hope you found your little patt swanhunter. get them young and get the kids into everything the pup does. good solid socialization out in the van, out in the truck, out in the boat and out in the argo (atv) getting him used to everything we do as a family Quote Link to post
Greengrass 202
We got our pup last week at 10 weeks old and he and the kids ,ages 6 and 19 months are great, early days i know but i firmly believe it's how you bring them up, not just terriers all dogs. Quote Link to post

cdnhastings 23
Its my opinion that the younger you can get them the stronger the bond. The pup I've now, was with me at six weeks, very little independence at that age. He wanted nothing else to do but to be with me. Now its a few weeks latter, hes a little bigger and lil more independant. I think anywhere from six to eight weeks is a good age to be bringing the pup home. As for the breeding thats all up to you. Good luck and happy hunting Quote Link to post
