Sorry Mike but i just would not even attempt it with sub £100 rifle end ov....i know your a turk rifle guru but in my opinion i would not even try it...it may well be capable of a kill on live quarry but i will stick to the more renowned makes

Steve your just a fecking SNOB! :tongue2:

The QB's are deffo capable of a clean kill out to 40 (+) yards

My XS19 is proof that a £70 (including decent Bisley 4x40 scope) rifle can do the job, in fact there is only the PRE-XS (mainly B2) cheapo's that I wouldn't use (apart from the QB's) for hunting.

The old saying 'buy cheap, buy twice', stands true. You get a sub £100 gun, then you get in to it a bit more and the next thing you know, you're mate has a £150 - £250 priced springer and WOW you want it, so you sell yours for £60.00 and buy one for £200, plus £50 - £90 for a scope. You join a club and have a go on an HW or air arms spiringer and that's it, your needing one. You sell yours for £150.00 and buy one plus scope for £350.

Total outlay = circa £400 in a year, not including when you decide that PCP is the only way forward.

Save a bit more and buy a quality second hand springer for about the £150 - £200 mark. You'll be happier in the long run!

Like I said, B2's be they SMK, Westlake or Snowpeak, these are all made in the same chinese factory to ridiculous quality control.

Now however! The quality control is much greater now.

Only yesterday I went to purchase an "Al in One" printer scanner etc....

Ordered the Epsom (who I've trusted and used since the 1980's) They gave me the HP version, I was not happy at all (Had a HP before, when they were made in the UK and it was seriously sh!te).

Told the vendor I would try it and if it didn't meet my expectations I would be looking for my brass back in the morning

This HP all in one is brilliant in both scan and print, (I tested it heavilly last night) and it cost just £30! (half price sale).

Guess what?

This unit is made in China!

Cheap indeed, made in the yellow land and quality far exceeds my last Epsom £200 printer and my last £175 Canon scanner!

The chinks with their cheapie are doing exactly what the "Made in Tiewan" and the "Made in Hong Kong" lables did.

Anything below £100 is ok for target shooting but no good for live quarry....like has been said if you save another 100 quid or so you can get a second hand Weihrauch or AirArms springer.

Good luck mate

A Hatsan 55 or 60 is a gun capable of hunting live quary! They cost under a hundred. Would you say the same about a Webley Stingray mark 2?

The stingray is ok mate but again i would not take it on a hunt but they aint under 100 quid brand new

Got news for you, the Stingray is either a Hatsan 55 (.177) or 60 (.22)! It is the same rifle, only difference is the safety switch, the Hatsans is better. I have owned both of these rifles, the Stingray mark 2 is a Hatsan, I could have saved £100 and bought a damned 55!

I'll be honest I have an SMK XS20 'Supergrade' That I picked up for £150 with a scope a few years ago as a back up to my AA S400 and also for my friend/father in law to use and while it is good for the money when compared to other more 'kudos' related brands I have to admit it's not a 10/10, more of a solid 5 or 6 if anything.

At about 30 yard the groupings with superdomes are roughly at 1.5-2 inch and that's on a good day...

Like the guys above have said save your pennies and push for a decent second hand springer by Weirauch or Air Arms
