JohnGalway 1,043
I ordered an item from a particular UK company on April 16th. After that I ordered items from the USA, which I have received more than a week ago. One week ago, I emailed the company asking had my item been posted? I included the order details. Today there is still no sign. Nor was there an reply to my email. I am not happy. I have sent another email today informing said company I will be contacting PayPal and my CC company tomorrow if I don't get a reply today. Shit customer service is the bane of consumers this side of the Atlantic. How long does it take to reply to an email? /rant. Edited May 1, 2012 by JohnGalway Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
And amazingly I have just gotten a full refund. Quote Link to post
Holdaway 2
A full refund is better than nothing, but it takes very little to let someone know there is a problem with the order. H Quote Link to post

H You're right. I ordered salt licks from a company in Dublin earlier in the year. They didn't have them in stock so emailed me telling me so and offering either a full refund or wait until the blocks came in and they'd send them on, I said wait, no problem. I understand people have lives, get busy, unforeseen circumstances, but lack of communication is unreasonable. It's not as if I had put in the initial order five minutes ago, it was done April 16th. No time to write a two line email between then and now? Sorry, but pull yer socks up if you running a business. As a customer I shouldn't have to chase my own money. 1 Quote Link to post
moley 115
totally agree john, some companies and most postal services in the uk are crap, everyone seems to require a signature these days, how the hell are we supposed be in to sign for it ,when we need to go out to work to afford to buy it, i left a note this morning asking them to leave a parcel in the shed, the delivery man wrote on my note , that it required a signature, don,t know whether they are gonna try again or have taken it somewhere else or what, f*****g muppets Quote Link to post
logun 91
who were they john ??? good to name and shame lol may pull they finger out then. Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Seeing as I got my money back I'll refrain from the name & shame game. But I'd like to suggest to the company involved that they make contingency plans for the future in case this were to happen again such as: Keep the customer informed, it keeps us relatively happy. I would not have written either email or this thread had I know that maybe something is wrong with the supplier, there's been a mix up or mistake somewhere etc. Everyone is busy and has emergencies and these things happen. Formulate contingency plans for those emergencies, someone else on stand by who can deal with customers in case the main person is called away unexpectedly. Even if it's someone to say there'll be a delay/we can offer you a refund if you don't wish to wait, but you've not been forgotten about. Replies don't need to be instant, but it's just manners to get a reply. Simple things mean a lot. At the time I was in relative urgent need of the item.
