keepitcovert 842
Quite often a thread appears asking which type of cross is faster, but the style of running is very rarely mentioned ive often been told a certain dog is very fast, and when ive seen it run it appears to be very quick, some short coupled dogs look like their going ten to the dozen, but when ran against a long backed dog that has a greater stride the difference can be staggering, best example i saw was a deerhound cross about 28 tts lamping rabbits and it made it look like childs play, also the way it ran didnt appear to be that fast but it obviously was. Now my own dogs also alter their running style dependant on what quarry they are hunting, i know by the way my dog is hunting if its on the track of a rabbit, fox, winged game or deer. You dont need to see what its after its usually pretty obvious by the way its hunting up, im sure most of you guys on here know what im talking about. YIS KIC Quote Link to post

PoshPikey 560
very true - i watch my whippet chasing my Saluki x - the saluki x is running at a rolling gait - the whippets legs and head are pumping like the clappers. Quote Link to post
