blunderbust 4
Have you seen the one from David Stretton at Donnington Deer Management? It is a bit pricey but can be taken and used anywhere, I like the fact that you can have it on the skinning/gralloch frame to do the work at a good hight without bending and then swing the hoist up and walla, it is ready to drop the gralloch and finish the skinning if you should wish. fat man 4,741
FM,the thing im trying to suss is are there any handy frames that I can put the winch onto.I have very limited space since I did the kennells lately and was hoping someone might have a frame that could be put together and taken apart in a short time that would be strong enough for a big fat billy, lol.I dont want a permanent fixture, just something I could dismantle and erect when necessary,as some times I dont have goats for long periods.I think I will go for the clothes line pole type with an arm extension that the winch can go on.Just feeling the water to see if theres a few bright lads with the job sussed. Liam before i built the shed i use now i used to hang the deer from the kids swing, lol, the missus was not impressed nor were the kids.Have you no room to fix a bracket like whats used on shelving onto an outside wall with a pully wheel fixed to the end of it,pretty simple. irishnut 297
those bottom frames look like they are made from ordinary 50x50mm box section. if you know anyone with a welder, ask them to build you it. 20 mins would do it. i'm not far from newry, if your anyway close, then i'll do it for you, prob have enough scrap 2" box at home to knock it up.
