What about lamping them on a few rabbits, to get them started for the future on the day time long ears? A lot say it makes them pull up on hedges, but a lot seem to start them on lamped bunny's as well, confusing stuff, lol.. Quote Link to post

No rabbits for me day or night i think it dose no good for a hare dog .Some one on here said about sending a young lad out to work to get him used to it well if hes going to be a plaster yer not going to be getting him a eastwing hammer and a chop saw .If a dog is going to be after hares no point in starting it at rabbits wait until it has the age in it and dont be slipping it in let it out on its own and then it wont get the shit run out of it with an old dog holding the hare . brendy mc l 694
speedie giveing them rabbits is not going to do them any harm its only to give them a feel for it let them get there gub around something letting a young dog of at a good winter hare when they have no experiance of chasing any thing i thi nk is not any better for them a good hare can make a good dog look bad wats it going to do with a pup with no running or experiance of catching or turning while chasing not going to be to good for it confidence always getting lost or double ditched i think they need a few runs with a bigger dog to learn them around hedges and stuff get them a few kills and then start giving them single handed runs but stick to your own ways if u belive in them thats my way of bringing them on atb speedie Quote Link to post
