BEARINATOR 2,876
I've only seen one deer/grey run but it's every stride at full speed was about 2 or 3 of my lurchers strides, it covered ground like nothing I've ever seen!! Mine has much faster acceleration but anything over 20 or 30 yards in a straight line and it's not even close in all honesty. deer/grey would get beat in the turn with the we dog definitely, that's why I would never have one. Acceleration and turning speed is far more important than out and out speed IMO. I'll show you my 2 on one day Rob , a deer/grey would beat a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound oh yeah, I'm not disputing that!! I kind of ignored the original question (mainly cos it's like saying what's faster, a porsche or a vectra ) I was answering the o.p's question mate, spot on Bunnys mate about different situations Quote Link to post

I've got a 29" Deer x bitch that sticks to her quarry like shit to a blanket !! And I'd bet she's not the only one !! Makes me wonder if the people who make these comments have actualy got any in-depth experience of running dogs ! Cheers. Quote Link to post

robwelsh 354
When I went ferreting with a guy off here..he had a beddy whippet x gh ,something along those lines, and the other lad had a bull gh x collie gh ,and in woodland my bitch stuck with them after the bunnies, and one was 21-22tts bull x 26"tts and mine being 29"tts ..I couldn't pull them apart ..and it was pretty tricky, and her first ferreting trip..I don't think size really matters if your dog knows how to use its body , obviously someone will come along and say I'm bullshitting with not a clue..but I couldn't give a f**k because this site is getting worse by the day Quote Link to post
littlefish 588
Surely he means 3/4 grey 1/4 collie. I don't think anyone would need to "debate" which would be faster out of 3/4 collie 1/4 grey and a deer/grey. Lol. Indeed...............it looks like that is what he is asking. Quote Link to post
littlefish 588
So you and your mate are arguing over wether a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound could beat a deer/grey in a race? FFS. I'm going to bed. Sums it up really......... 1 Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
listen chart...i made it clear I'd only seen one run...never claimed to have in depth experience. BUT unless I'm mistaken a small lurcher will usually out turn a big one....no?? and ain a lot of cases out accelerate a big one....or is that wrong? Quote Link to post
rob190364 2,594
and also...point out where I said "a deer x cannot turn"....or are you just twisting words to start an argument? Quote Link to post
