So you and your mate are arguing over wether a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound could beat a deer/grey in a race?   FFS. I'm going to bed.

So rather than back up your observations with facts, you just resort to insults......enough said, I think

i have a 3/4 gh 1/4 dh and he was well up with the fastest dogs i have seen. even beating some racing dogs at the shows. he also has very high prey drive, you could say he is jst a rough coated GH, h

i would actually think it would be onn the onus of the animal has they are all individuals and there top greys and sonme rans , i have seen extremely fast derrhound f1s but then have seen one a to collie xs of the three quarter type just has quick iand with top end speed to match . atb bunnys.

I've got a 23" Beddy/Grey/Deer/Whippet, and she's fast ! When she's runing alongside my 29" f1 Deer/Grey, her legs sem like a blur, yet the Deer cross looks like she is just loping !! Then the Deer cross changes gear and the speed REALY shows ! So, some big dogs can look slow, and little dogs can look fast, it's when they are running together you can see the difference !

As for a 3/4 Collie being as fast or faster than an f1 Deer x........ :bye:

Cheers.

I've only seen one deer/grey run but it's every stride at full speed was about 2 or 3 of my lurchers strides, it covered ground like nothing I've ever seen!! Mine has much faster acceleration but anything over 20 or 30 yards in a straight line and it's not even close in all honesty.

definitely, that's why I would never have one. Acceleration and turning speed is far more important than out and out speed IMO.

oh yeah, I'm not disputing that!! I kind of ignored the original question (mainly cos it's like saying what's faster, a porsche or a vectra :D )

seems i have got the wrong way round its wouls be blatantly obvious if ones talking sheer top speed etc a deerhound x grey would or should be topds . but has as said get in to woodland over twenty yds and the derhound grey will look like a fish out a water .atb bunnys.
