falconman 0
i quick question which cross would be faster in a race a fist cross deerhound greyhound or a 3/4 coillie greyhound, a little convo that came between me and my friend... thanks for looking guys/gals Quote Link to post
Ross91 15
Think it would come down to the drive of the dog really pal. Just my opinion though, im sure a lot of the breed specialists would disagree however Quote Link to post

falconman 0
same there i dont know the dh/gh would a much stronger dog because of the dh but the c/gh would be lighter but collies arent as fast as the gh or dh but with 3/4 gh in the coiile x hard question. Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
Faster off the mark or over distance? Sprint i would say the collie cross. Distance i would say Deer/Grey Cross. Gaz Quote Link to post
TROY_BOY 62
faster surely means top speed obviously depends on the two dogs but i would say more times out of 10 defo the dh/gh Quote Link to post
Romany 1,065
Most of the first cross d/g Ive seen were extremely fast, but then again Ive seen three quarter bred collies that looked and were built like greyhounds..so were probably fast too, dont think theres a be all and end all answer, as its alreadt been said, depends on the dogs.. I remember judging the Kelvin Valley show years ago, and in the morning there was greyhound time trials on..a three quarter bred d/h was put in for a bit of fun, and was 3rd fasted on the day... black-spring 18
i have a 3/4 gh 1/4 dh and he was well up with the fastest dogs i have seen. even beating some racing dogs at the shows. he also has very high prey drive, you could say he is jst a rough coated GH, he is 29" all the best rob, 1 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Surely he means 3/4 grey 1/4 collie. I don't think anyone would need to "debate" which would be faster out of 3/4 collie 1/4 grey and a deer/grey. Lol. 1 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
So you and your mate are arguing over wether a 3/4 collie 1/4 greyhound could beat a deer/grey in a race? FFS. I'm going to bed. 2 Quote Link to post
