minion 29
Any advice on the best tactics for pike this time of year. I've only been out after them once before and used 3rods set up on the buzzer bars I use for carp. I fished two on the botton and one with a float. I only caugh one pike and that was on the float. I was using roach as the dead bait. Just wondered what the best approach would be? Quote Link to post
Guest baldie
Youre about right there mate, a livebait might trigger them better, but its fairly slow at this time of year, maybe try a wobbled bait? Quote Link to post
shotgun..willy 8
like baldie says wobbled are good at the moment iv been puting a lamprey section on the bottom no float or anything just snap tackle and the bait . happy fishing Quote Link to post
Danny-Macca 0
Some pike will be starting to spawn soon so that may kill the fishing abit more than usual. I have found that when they are spawning it is best just to leave them be and get on with it becasue they never go on the feed when they are spawning Try and inject some oils into your bait, this wil attract the pike by smell. you could also add a colour attractant to your bait, this will attract the pike by sight. You could aslo do both, colour and smell, good luck mate Quote Link to post
