feeding time

ok guys i have a problem at the moment my dogs are getting me up before 7 every single day im not bothered on work days but never get a chance to have a few extra hours at the weekend there wanting there morning feed,i feed twice a day around 7am and the around 4pm as if i fed later they were waking me up for a shit around 2am even though id had them out around 10 to 11pm!!stuck in a [bANNED TEXT] mess its like having kids!!

 

whats best to do feed the very late what do you lads do these 2 are jokers lol

 

Sounds like you've made a rod for your own back.

I'd definately give them their evening meal later (about 6pm) and get them back on the Skinners(its what my dogs have,apart from the pup)

You've definately got to change their routine,otherwise your lifes not your own

Try not to stick to the same times too,if you let them,they will try and rule you,so if they do wake you up at 7am,just let them out and then go back to bed and feed them when you choose They'll soon adapt

Mine get there feed at around 10pm 2lb of raw tripe and there mixer eather gain28 or redmills racer+ is just left down all the time at this time of year but come the season kicking off I just put a pint on top of there tripe and adjust according to the work load which ranges from3-5 nights a week! yeah you are spot on me thinks will start the feed later like you say and im going back to skinners that stuff is good and less stools ect i will as always add some raw into there diets too.

how do you find the gain food i bought a sack and mine wont touch it,maybe if its mixed in with tripe like yours they would lol.

Thats nonsense mate. They certainly are a commitment but theres no reason to feed at certain times. I feed my dogs when i want to feed them. They are normally fed after a walk around 5-6 but that doesn't mean to say they haven't been fed at 12 in the afternoon or at 10 at night. I'm the boss not them.....

When my Dad kept greyhounds he done the same mate. Up for work early at 5, fed them, quick walk to clean themselves out and then back in the kennel till he got home. Every weekend moaning about a whining dog around 5. My Mum did the same with her dogs......early walk in the morning, then a quick walk at 12 and then a last walk at 3. Now this was religious and many things had to be altered to walk a dog....WTF!!..

I said i'd never do that when i got my own and never have. The onlt time you hear them is when i make up there bowls or someone is snooping about that shouldn't be.

If you ever need someone to do look after your dogs for you mate they wont ever be like you and thats when problems arise.......wouldn't be setting any times for my dogs, ever....

Always fed mine late on, just before I went to bed,,always missed a complete day of feeding too, usually a Wednesday..

Just in case I got a call to go out, or the wind got up and I fancied a look out..if I went out, the dogs got fed when we got bacl

As above. My parents feed there dogs 8am and 7pm on the dot.

 

Now the dogs rule their life. No lie in at a weekend or after a night out cuz dogs howling at 8am.

 

If they go shopping or for a day out then they have to be back for 7 for the dogs.

 

It's madness. Mine get fed when suits me.
