I'm having trouble with a rat too, my friends mother in law got one in her kitchen, had it for over a week now, and they havent used it since.

They called me after a week as rentokill couldnt get him.

I ferreted the kitchen to see if they could track him down, no luck. So set spring trap and live cage trap.

I returned, spring trap had been triggered and blood all over it, but no rat, followed the trail of blood, under the scurtain of the kitchen it went. Ripped the boards up and had a good luck, put ferret under to investigate, but nothing.

Turned the whole kitchen upside down, nothing.

So i pulled the whole kitchen unit out, to which a hole in the wall was in show. Not big enough for ferret to go in, but big enough for Mr rat. Baited up traps again and left

Returned again today checked traps nothing, disarmed them and put ferrets down, nowt.

So my thinking now is that the rat has died from loss of blood from being caught in the trap, or from the poisen from rentokill, which is wrong, cos, he might retreat to the hole in the wall and die, so they will have to dig him out.

I'm hoping he's just hiding out, im biding my time for now, i did even consider sitting in the corner silently with my rifle waiting for the fecker, but not practical me thinks.

This reminded me of something i saw this morning. I was sat in b & Q car park waiting for my mate to come out with some doors when a blue car pulled up next to me. A fella and his young daughter got out of the car and proceeded to get something out of the boot. It looked like some kind of live catch trap. He walked up to the bushes closely follwed by the girl and opened the trap releasing about five rats. I couldn't believe it, he obvisously didnt have the heart to kill them. What a strange place to release them though, i assume he saw all the other rats there and thought they'd make friends or something. Joe

That is the most sillyest thing i have ever heard

i got a job in a country pub kitchen a few years back , staff had seen a rat running about , landlord wanted it trapping as he didn,t want a bad smell it it died somewhere inaccesable, so i set traps in the only place that the staff or landlords dogs wouldn,t go, the cellar, there was a big gap under the door to the cellar and ratty was often seen running to or from this door, after about a week of bugger all , the landlord went off on his hols , leaving his ma in law running the pub , she had a proper pampered yorkie terrier , 1st morning in the place , i get a call to say this horrid yappy little turd was going ape at the dish washer, so i turns up with a proper terrier and get a good mark , i just about dismanteled the bloody appliance to get a clean shot with my airpistol , as the rat was jammed right in behind a load of wiring, i got the rat and didn,t hit one wire,a cracking shot from about 7 inches and i had to praise the turd as well, lttle darling

THE PIOSION WILL HAVE KILLED THE RAT IT CAN TAKE UP TO A WEEK FOR THEM TO DIE , AND YOU ARE PROBLY RIGHT IT WILL BE IN THE WALL.

NICE TRAPPING MATE WELL DONE. :clapper:

WHY DO YOU THINK POISION CANT BE USED IN A KITCHEN. LET ME TELL YOU THERE ARE VERY FEW COMMERSIAL KITCHENS IN THE UK THAT DONT HAVE POISION IN .

ALL RESTURANTS AND FAST FOOD PLACES HAVE TO HAVE PEST CONTOL CONTACT BY LAW. AND MOST PESTYS WILL HAVE BAIT BOXES IN PLACE.

NEXT TIME YOUR GETTING A BURGER TRY HAVING A LOOK OVER THE COUNTER AT THE FLOOR, AND NOT THE FOOD SEE IF YA CAN SPOT ONE.

Quoting TOMO.

"ALL RESTURANTS AND FAST FOOD PLACES HAVE TO HAVE PEST CONTOL CONTACT BY LAW. "

Not quite right the food producer has to show "Due Dilligence" so it not law, the only time the law gets involved is if there is and infestation.

However it is illegal to have a verminous premises.

The chap that released the rats in B&Q must be good at trapping or very brave, 5 in one trap, or man enough to put them all into one cage!!!
