Decided on a Whippet

Recommended Posts

Thanks to everyone who has offered me advice over the last few weeks/months with deciding what pup to get.

I started off with wanting a whippet then i've been through just about every cross going and after over an hour on the phone to Mally yesterday I finall decided on whippet which I think I wanted all all along truth be told.

I've put my name down on a bitch pup bred out of Mallys Sega (little dog on the left below) and the dam is a blue bitch with good feet, deep chest and general good conformation.

Can't wait to start bringing on a pup again and have something to go lamping with.

Cheers

Gaz

good luck for the future with your whippet, nice too see your geting a pup from some one who isnt a peddler like a lot of the so called working whippet men.

Thanks for the kind comments lads. Gareth contacted me a couple of weeks ago via pm asking me about whippets in general. During which time Sagar covered a nice strong blue whippet bitch standing at 22

I cant wait. It's 2 years since I got my sal/whip/grey pup and 6 months since I lost him.

Seems like forever though.

Thanks for the kind comments lads. Gareth contacted me a couple of weeks ago via pm asking me about whippets in general. During which time Sagar covered a nice strong blue whippet bitch standing at 22" she is pedigree but the owner didn't have the kc papers. From my experience in whippets i'm 99% sure she's sooty sam lines and is a cracking bitch. With her not having papers the pups will be a realistic price. Kev the bitches owner is only breeding her as he would like a pup as does his son, daughter and a couple of his mates. I phones Kev yesterday on Gareths behalf and reserved a bitch pup (if theres any available), I'll be dewclawing the litter so i will know if theres one available .

Sagar has only covered 3 bitches so far as i won't let just anyone use him, i'm very particular and will only let responsible folk use him and if there keeping a pup themselves. Too many people see the £££ signs in the whippet world and i don't ever want to be a part of that scene. A litter of pups takes an awful lot out of a bitch and it takes a while to get the bitch back to full working fitness after a litter, how anyone can breed 2 litters a year from one bitch is beyond me, they can't have any respect for there dogs in my opinion.

Going back to Gareth, i've invited him up for a weekend so he can see Sagar and see him working out in the field. I never ever talk my dogs up, can't see the point of that as you only get found out!!. He will also see sagar's dam 'Vixen' working too. Anyone who's seen my dogs work will tell you they always give 100% and they do as there told (well most of the time lol). There not world beaters but i'm more than happy with them, they keep me and the ferrets fed and thats all that matters imo.

Cheers folks.

S.e.s.k.u - my sal/whip/grey died when he hit a tree lamping.

Also that photo wasn't the patents of the pup I'm getting, the little dog is the sire 21" and the dam is a blue bitch 21".

Thanks and all the best
