The Duncan 802
Hi guys, I'm looking for recommendations for a .243 as Weihrauch don't seem to do one. It'll be for fox, small deer and occasional larger deer stalks. Looking for a 'buy it once and not replace it' kind of rifle Quote Link to post
martin 332
Sako/Tikka/Remington in that order. Quote Link to post
dicehorn 38
Sako/Tikka/Remington in that order. Agree with that order but if you have deep pockets - custom/ Sauer/Blaser Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
I do agree with Martin above... But just to add that there aren't many rifles out there these days that are no good new off the shelf...try a few if you can or at least spend a few hours in a gun shop fondling a few. bangerstox10 3
Got a Winchester model 70 stealth II .243 WSSM heavy barrel then fitted with a predator 12 moderator absolutely love it. Only down side is the chuffing weight. Quote Link to post
Bullcat 12
Tikka T3 Hunter. Good solid rifle. Accurate out of the box. Value for money. Thats what I bought!! Quote Link to post
The Duncan 802
Thanks guys- good to know what people rate. I'll have to get down to the shops and fondle a few lol! Only things the wife will let me fondle in the shops Quote Link to post

Only down side is the chuffing weight. Sounds like my kind of rifle- I've always favoured rifles with a bit of heft to them. Quote Link to post
unlacedgecko 1,466
Ive got a Remington 700 SPS in 243. It handles well and it not too heavy even with scope mod and bipod. Quote Link to post
remi700 99
Shooting Remington 700 this past 5 years or so with no complaints as yet but also worth mentioning my friend shoots a Howa 1500 with a houge stock and its a lovely rifle. Good value, plenty accurate and nice trigger. Atb Mark Quote Link to post
FOXHUNTER 5,021
Depends on cash. Sako or Tikka. Quote Link to post
gibbo1973 187
ive a howa 1500 sporter nice accurate rifle, theres only 2" difference between a target at 50 yrds to a target at 200 yrds , its a good allrounder in my eyes Quote Link to post
