Stick with the traps mate if you catch a cat you can always release it

Ok downloaded loads of these some are ok but lots have to much background noise so not quite as good as they first sounded. good news I called it in with the fox caller uk although it can only do one

I used my hand to call this one in- shot on Saturday evening just before dark squeaked it in from 70 yards to 50yards! just trotted up in the long grass. its all down to practice

Ok from what people are saying I am going with a remote control caller but making my own I have found a mp3 with remote for under a fiver I have speaker for under a tenner and the sound quality is good found a site that does free sounds easy to download but is american so not many that are compatible for over here and it looks easy to transport I will give you a up date once it is done. for under £20 if it works cant be bad and if not nothing really lost. I have tried it on my own mp3 and old speaker in the garden and the local cats have already come in on a rodent squeak and a rabbit squeal.

if you have a I phone look at the apps you can get, there are loads of calls on there some are superb through a cheap external speaker, mouse squeaks and everything,I still rely on polystyrene alot though,I used to be able to call off my hand very successfully, but I think a few missing teeth have screwed the harmonics,I have a mate who can still do it very well though

Don't do the shooting bit myself but was speaking to a local keeper the other week and he swears by a cub call this time of year,he had a electronic one and he was telling me he called a dog fox in with a cub call and the thing came in so fast it hurt it's leg as it jumped down from some bails, mind you the 243 cured it's limp  .If you need a terrier to shift any you find to ground Mark, you know where i am  .

I did not say i would spend lots of money I am thinking of a mp 3 player with external speaker I have been looking on you tube but there is nothing wrong with spending money if it works

My friend uses one of these in an old army ammo tin.... Bought the mp3 from eBay for 99p, the tin for £5 and a small speaker.... Works a treat

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought one of our less sane laws said you couldn't use an electronic recordings to decoy quarry?

That's right regarding birds, but it's perfectly legal to use an electronic call for Foxes.

I'd rest the calling for a bit mate and try baiting an area, then get there for dawny or sit up with a lamp and whack it (and those cats while you're at it). If you know where the earth is you might try asking the owner of that ground as the cubs will be milling about on top now, knock a few of them over the vixen may move them further away.

i know the cats can be a pain but these are on the farm for a reason as the owner wants them there as they keep the rats mice and squirrels and rabbits down they dont eat her live stock either I am going out in the early morning to see what is about but sunday should be good as I know what time the deer come past now so can refill the freezer

if I am right you can not use them on any game species or deer only vermin and pests. I thought you could use them for crow and alike though maybe wrong but I can remember some bloke in a shop buying one for crow shooting as he was asking about the calls on it.
