Malt 379
I'm sorry Jasp, I can't agree with you on this one.. We've been champions for 4 out of the last 5 seasons, no club can win every single one in a league as competitive as the Premiership, especially now. We've never finished lower in the table than third since the premier league has been formed. Despite being the most valuable club in the world, we can't match the spending of Chelsea, City and the other sugar daddy clubs which are springing up all over Europe, and the fact that we're still as competitive with them is down to Fergie IMO. NEWKID 27,298
Never thought I'd hear UTD fans calling for Fergies head....... come on lads he is UTD more than anyone, I'l bet he's hurting more than anyone else this morning and he'll know Park for Valencia was wrong......... but to get rid no way. He'll go when he decides thats for sure, Scholes and Giggs have been unbelievable again this season (Scholes coming back put us back on track), but it's time for Young,Valencia,Cleverly,Smalling,Jones now. The league should have been won at Wigan and Everton, the players against Everton allowed them back into the game, at 4-2 with 10 mins to go should be all over, these young lads will learn a lot from this season and Fergie is the best man to develop what could be another exiting group of youngsters.

NEWKID 27,298
ok -- fill me in whats this mean for the title race now.. i`m like a little lost voice UTD and City have the same amount of points but City have an 8 goal advantage which basically means if they win their last 2 games they should win the league. I can't see UTD clawing back that goal difference in 2 games, although Newcastle could do us a big favour.......

lanesra 3,994
The money City have spent is because they can , if anyone thinks what they have spent has BOUGHT THEM THE LEAGUE ? well that means EVERY title won since the Premiership started has been BOUGHT , because they have all spent 100's off millions to achieve this , tell me a team which has won it without spending A LOT LESS than those below them cause i cant think off 1 , and Arsenal have proved if you dont spend you dont compete where and when it matters , good luck to City and there loyal fans .... where were the fans 3yrs ago who have jumped on the city bandwagon someone asked .... What Chelsea started and now amplified by the likes of City, Anzhi Makachkala, PSG, etc is a whole different ball game. Even Real Madrid at the height of the Galactico era couldn't do it to the extent that the sugar daddy clubs are doing it today..

Easy that Question they where SUPPORTING CHELSEA IMO there's a big difference between regularly replacing top players with other top players in an already established team, to buying a whole complete team using a virtually unlimited supply of money. The Manchester City identity is meaningless when that happens, lets face it, if ANY other premiership team had that money the exact manager/team etc. could be winning the league but under the name of a different club (if that makes sense), not one of them players joined City because it's City, they did it because that's where the money was. If I was a City fan, obviously I'd be happy that they're potentially going to win the league, but the way it's been done would definitely take the shine off it for me.
NEWKID 27,298
Malt and Rob, you've got it bang on in my opinion, it took Ferguson a long time to get the club round to his way of thinking/playing.. and all of the success since has been based on that grounding, investing in youth and signing top players 1 or 2 at a time....... not even for big money always, King Eric was only 1m I think...... the start of the year there were some big signings (money wise) De Gea, Jones, Young etc but even these are brought with the idea of development as they are definately not the finished article....... look at Rooney a huge amount of money for a massive talent, but Ferguson has managed him perfectly would any other manager of handled him as well I'm not bitter about City they're a good team to watch with some outstanding players but if the money goes so will they..... there aren't the foundations of years of work like at UTD......
Joe67 239
the two top teams in england, wasnt a great match to be honest it was really boring.i expected more.could still be a suprise or two in next couple games
lanesra 3,994
I understand what yous are sayin ( Malt & Rob) they have done it over a short period , Arsenal have been the team most affected by players movin for money only , city must off given them 50 or 60 million for toure , adebayor , clichy and nasri and they will probably try there hand for R.V.P this summer , though who wouldnt like seein there team go from virtual obscurity too challeging for major honours , though they did get a steal in Joe Hart from Shrewsbury , i think it was less than a hundred grand they where sayin ! rob190364 2,594
I honestly think Newcastle will turn City over....dispite Mancinis poor attempts at mind games, I can guarantee him and his players probably think it's more or less in the bag now. If they go into the Newcastle game with even an ounce of complacency they could be in for a nasty shock. At last then that bellend that was blubbering at the Swansea game will actually have something to humiliate himself infront of millions of viewers over.
jasper65 6
I'm pretty sure if Fergie had the same treasure chest as city we would have seen a few players in this season. I was gobsmacked when the transfer window closed without Man U bringing in some support in defence to cover the vidic loss and also the midfield? wesley schnider was strongly linked but all interest cooled!! what a shame... No excuses!! there's players at Man Utd that frankly shouldn't be? Rooney looks pretty frustrated being the main Goal scorer who needs more support up front, for some reason all this seems to have been missed this season with players coming back out of retirement to cover a weak Man Utd team. thought this was intereting by mancini. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2137638/Roberto-Mancini-Manchester-United-played-draw.html
WILF 47,425
Good honest football talk from Mancini there and spot on too, there's plenty of time to blow smoke up each others arses when you lift a trophy.....until then, keep pushing on with no let up.
