Food Imprint

The worst sort of imprint is a food imprint for flying but I personally like them reared this way for AI. The term is used to describe a hawk that has been reared by hand in isolation. Such hawks will scream to be fed and for attention when the austringer is in sight and responding to the sound of human voices, During training her! Her familiarity with people and her lack of fear and Hunger can easily turn to aggression, When given food on the fist or the lure she is likely to mantle and scream in threat. She may also be sticky footed on the fist or When on quarry or the lure plus she may attempt to carry.

Dual Imprint/Dual Creche Rearing

Dual imprinting results when a hawk is reared by a foster parent, which will allow the austringer into the aviary to socialize with the eyass (es), Provided that the austringer never enters the aviary when the hawk is feeding! but only at times suitable to socialize with her, the hawk should lack the undesirable imprinted traits but still lacking all fear of the austringer. Dual Creched birds reared in a creche by a Human are excellent Natural breeders and also most will also qualify as AI birds, One guy I speak to has a tiercel Peregrine reared this way which Naturaly pairs and will also give semen on the Hat, he's basically a bit confused but worth his weight in gold....

Hope this helps a bit
