BEARINATOR 2,871
as stated lurcher bitch got loose and killed a cat today when i was opening the garage door didnt no she was behind me. opend the door and she came straight out and spotted a neighbours cat.heres wer the plot thickens as my neighbour is a well known animal rights actavist witch i can not name. i am half expecting a call from some one,or a section in the local paper about blood sports or hunting dogs.as i stated to the owner any dog could of done this and it is comonn knowledge that cats and dogs do not get along it just happend to be a hunting dog that has caught the cat wer do i stand legaly on this matter as i am putting it down a misfortunate accident. you will probs just to have her on a muzzle for a while i know a man whos dog killed a cat and he had to have it muzzled for 3 yrs! oh well hate cats anyway Did he get done for it under the dangerous dogs act? Does that take cats into account? I know the police don't get too excited about dogs attacking other dogs. Not sure myself but I know a lad who got his patterdale on it for it fighting with another dog Quote Link to post
Guest joball
ive had an absolute nightmare with cats, bloody things. my neighbour got this cat loved it too deaf , use to see her taking photos of it, talking to it blah blah. my dogs killed it in the back garden, broke the news to her, threats after threats , any way in the end the rspca came up after it was reported that i was trapping foxes in the back garden and mutilating them with my dogs, which wasnt true. she seen me one morning taking a fox out of a snare , typical i bagged it and relocated it as it was a nuisance. (illegal now) when a women rspca officer arrived i thought im in for it now as a few of the dogs got a few war wounds like any working dogs have. ive heard so many stories on here of dogs , equipment getting seized prior to investigation etc and to be honest she was really nice. loved my lurcher as she has one and said she loved rabbiting with the dogs and to top it off said if the neighbour carries on i can get her done for harrassment. the hassle that stupid cat has caused is be on belief . the tension with the neighbour you could cut it with a knife. i never done ferrals with dogs for the reason that where i live theres alot of cats about but now they got the taste theres no stopping them. so i just as well show them ferrals ive had an absolute nightmare with cats, bloody things. my neighbour got this cat loved it too deaf , use to see her taking photos of it, talking to it blah blah. my dogs killed it in the back garden, broke the news to her, threats after threats , any way in the end the rspca came up after it was reported that i was trapping foxes in the back garden and mutilating them with my dogs, which wasnt true. she seen me one morning taking a fox out of a snare , typical i bagged it and relocated it as it was a nuisance. poacher3161 1,766
I wouldent worry too much about it its an accident why anybody wants to keep cats in an urban enviroment is behond me and i have found it impossible to break my lurchers to cats without me keeping one my self and that would never happen in a month of sundays. 2 Quote Link to post

hogie 103
had the same problem afew years ago a cat was always coming and sitting at my back gate just to annoy the dogs 1 morning i was going to pull my bin in and never noticed the cat was behind the bin my lurcher bitch slips out by me and chased it into the street and got it in the middle of the street infront of its owner she rung the police and they told her to ring the rspca the boy from the rspca was spot on asked could he see the dogs just to make sure they wherent in need of treatmeant and to have a word about what had happened so let him see the dogs afew where scarred up abit from working foxes but that never bothered him he said he was happy they where in spot on condition and never needed treatmeant he then told me after i told him what happened that the girl that owned the cat wanted me done but he said it sounded like the cat was asmush to blame as my dog and he was happy to put that in his report so i got away with it apart from afew people in the street throwing looks at me everytime i walked the dogs down the street Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
dont worry mate nowt will come of it had a dog that literally cleaned the street up the neighbours loved him! bird life returned thats good enough for me -i never ever set him on any he just hated them mind you he was a prolific fox dog so cats were a change for him had police round loads of times but neighbours would come out and praise the dog up saying he was a lovely dog etc lol Quote Link to post
