trappa 518
Had a mooch tonight with my 22 as i spoke to the farmer and he wants me to knock some of the rabbits down, theres getting to be a lot! Anyway had a walk and over an hour i shot between 20 and 30 and was absolutely on fire, i couldnt miss ( well hardly) #cough cough# So im walking along a path and right at the top of the field was 2 young rabbits so i thought what the hell, lets give it a try so i took aim and fired only for it to hit right at its feet, so i upped it a little and fired again and droped it stone dead! I didnt think i would hit it at that distance so i got up and roughly measured it. It was exactly 195 long strides away. I reckoned it was close to 150 yards! Im sure some of you have hit at that distance and there will be others saying its not right to take wild shots but i did and im pleased i did. Now i just need to repeat it! i took a photo will try to upload it later.

richmcgin 32
trappa mate you dont have to prove anything to anyone, you know what you have done and that is good enough, we have no reason to say other wise. Well done on the long shot not many have the confidence to takle a shot of that range. long live the brave !!!.

Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Nothing wrong with the odd long shot when you are on form mate ,its the frustrated long shots that normally feck up .
The Duncan 802
its not the doubters you need to watch for; its the bullsh*tters and the wannabee c*nts that should be looked out for. Dammit, temporarily knocked off the 'ignore' feature lol!
Probuk 93
I love long range shooting with my HW100, i shot a bunny at 82yards recently. Theres alot of sceptism here when it comes to extream long range shooting but to me its the norm...But I know of a few pest controle's that shoot into 100 yards with sub 12 air rifles. One payed this site a visit and told me he couldnt belive the sceptisem on long range vermin control. This guy kills at 100yards + often with his son. If you have the confidence...just do it...we only ever see.. or are ment to here about the good shots here but in the reall hunting life... theres always going to be pleanty of miss shots to...weather its 8yards or 100yards plus as everyone well knows it. All the best Marty Edited May 14, 2012 by Probuk
The Duncan 802
I'd reckon despite its low power that a standard hw100s will group just as well as a match .22lr at long range down to the fact that quality airgun pellets are actually quite well and uniformaly made. In the right conditions, I've had some quite remarkable results with my .177 HW100S.
Ratreeper 441
I invited a mate on my permission to shoot pigeons and rabbits, the farmer was sound and just asked not to shoot any pheasants because 'he liked seeing them around'. Well we finished the barns and I let him go ahead while I went to fetch what we shot (he was shit scared of going in with the steers, so was I but pretended not to be). Anyway I came round the corner to him looking guilty, we walked about 100 yards on and I found a dead cock pheasant and he just said 'well I never thought I would hit it at that range'...it was delicious but he didn't get invited back I don't like long shots personally, but I have dabbled and they do tend to be the ones you remember.
