2.8 guy 403
to be honest i had the chance of one a few months back, i asked around about them but got no response so left it, the half cross suits me and they make a great family dog they come with there problems but don't they all, i gave mine lots of work more than any other dog and in its working life only suffered one broken toe and was run on some really unforgiving ground she was still catching well at 7 Quote Link to post
Stabs 3
You interested Si? bring a greyhound bitch over and we can come to some sort of arrangement is that young jasper Yes, that was Jaspers first trip up the farm for breaking to guns, chooks, turkeys and bulls. That trip was the first and last time he ever saw a rabbit Quote Link to post
caterpiller 10
I have the Litter Brother to Firemans Bitch and i am more than happy with him. I got him for the Ferreting Job and he has turned out ok....he's a handy Dog to have around on a days Ferreting. His temperament is spot on AWAY from home but he DOES change the second his Feet cross the drive back home and thats when his strong Guarding instinct kicks in. 3 Quote Link to post
Mooching Celt 659
Mate of mine had one, a half cross bred out of Cumbria. The most loyal dog you'd ever meet, would have put his life on the line for his owner. He put an awful lot of work into the training of the dog to produce an honest bunny catcher but the dog's downside was he was a total barsterward with other dogs, never could get that out of him and boy did that dog mean business when the red mist descended!! He'd only let his young daughter go out at night if she took the dog with her...............his protective nature meant no lads ever got within 5 feet of her 3 Quote Link to post
fireman 11,003
Caterpillers dog and on the last pic the dog has seen someone on the horizon and you can see how the dog has tucked himself in to the lad, that is the cattle dog trait we've been talking about. As for learning here's the same dog as a pup not 3 mins after meeting a ferret for the very first time 2 Quote Link to post

redcharge 378
What are the first crosses like pace wise? are they plenty quick enough for rabbits on big open fields or are they better suited to smaller fields? also what are they like around cover? 1 Quote Link to post
birddog 1,354
really like the look and sound of them, would be nice to find out how consistent for temperament and performance litters were Quote Link to post
