Guest Ditch_Shitter
I wouldn't touch those (Nylon) nets myself, mate. I always used Hemp. But then, in my day it was Hemp or else vile, thin, self tangling shit made of nylon. I hear things have moved on since then? But I grew set in my ways. Must admit; I've handled - though never worked with - Spun Nylon nets. These looked, to me, to have much of the old familiarity of hemp. But, of course, they wouldn't rot away if ye 'forgot' and left them in ye bag, un aired! Not much of an opinion to base ye own on, I know. But, if I had my own time round again? I'd like to look more closely at Spun Nylon Quote Link to post
Netter 0
I dont agree with HOB&JILL if your going for a "z" twine get the heaviest you can, they will handle better and blow about less, I would recommend Hemp Twine but Im set in my ways too, but failing that i would go for spun nylon, that way you get the best of both worlds. Hob&Jill 258
Fair enough, cant say Ive tried them. Last year I brought 40 white spun nylon nets, good nets. JulTaylor, Dont waste your money on pegs. May as well make them, only takes some hardwood cut into triangles. Edited May 12, 2007 by Hob&Jill Quote Link to post
maty j 6
used to use hemp and it found it good but moved onto the spun nylon now. used the red nets last year which were very good. i would say on a par with hemp reagards getting snagged on debris etc. cant say about the heavyer z nylon nets but stay away from the thin 4z etc....get tanged on grass but do catch well. got some blcak nets that are the same material as the red un's handle exactly the same just harder to see when picking them up. i got some yellow spun last weekend after hearing good things about it, made one up allready and is nice to work with. its a similar thickness to the red/black but made of a softer material that doesnt "stand" aswell as other two. i was looking for some more red after being impressed with it last season and managed to pick some up. i thought it was the same material as i had been using but its like the yellow, not as stiff as the other lot. still seems like decent stuff but looks like it could pick up debris much easyer. not long to go till i'll find out. cheers, maty.
