any one work pure greyhounds i.e lamping there a danger on the lamp

We have had a few good track greyhounds and worked them like any other dog on the lamp but to be honest they are a bit to fast on the lamp. IE stoping in time smashing fences and a like. But they will do the job you put in front off them but the stamner is not the best hence why they are crossed i think.

Had one recently and it jumped a ditch and broke it's back it was a real good bitch and game as they come. Had to be pts she was all action and have your nerves gone I think there bit too fragile for general mooching and bushing lAmping etc.

i go lamping a few pup track dogs for a mate of mine with the lurcher to put a bit of fire in em they get tunnel vision they see nothing only what there chasing and will run into fences gates wire you be very careful but if they got used of lamping they could figure out theres things avoid i dont see why not use em but wouldn last hard night out like a lurcher though and get lot more small injuries

:yes: ferreting, ratting, lamping and also marking to ground for the terriers, she is spot on and puts plenty in the bag

cheers for the reply, how old is she and how is she with injuries/feet?pm if you prefer, there are a few greyhound lads around me and i often get the offer of 1 that might not make the grade on the track, don't know if any of the track hounds would last long out in the field here as they are just not built for it.

She is coming up 3, only had 1 foot injury (broke a toe which the bone man at the track fixed) I also use her for retrieving shot birds at work. She is running at my local track now and has won a few races which keeps her fit during the warmer months . If you get 1 just walk it around the land plenty of times before slipping it as they sharp learn where the obstacles are.

:yes: Got 2 bitches to pup this year mate, bedlington to 1 and acd cross for the other , hopefully I'll get a good pup out of each
