gnasher16 30,121
Its the harsh reality of the level of fitness required these days by players.......long periods of peak fitness is not necessarily a healthy state to be in.......folk say players today are wimps with the injuries they get and how players were tougher back in the good old days.......as we know with our dogs, when they are peaked out they can become quite a delicate little athlete prone to muscle pulls, tears and injuries...........................it can be amazing the protection a little bit of bodyfat can give........but like anything if we want ultimate performance then ultimate fitness is required. Terrible news about the fella anyway.

Roxyboi 64
I got to thinking about this when I head about it on the radio, I wonder if more footballers are following a new drug regime perhaps something along the lines the cyclists use or perhaps blood doping, EPO ?? scothunter 12,609
Think they call it sudden death syndrome. Thing is a dodgy heart can lay undected for years. And then one day, bang lights out. Always said when it's my time I hope it's the same way was my old man. Massive heart attack and dead before he hit the ground
