postie 425
Just been around my mates and he said he'd got some golf flag poles and wanted to know if I thought they'd be any good. Well my initial reaction was I doubt it but when he got one out I was pleasantly surprised . It was exactly the same thickness as the bought fiber glass poles and the grommets fitted perfectly. Anyhow he's got me a dozen poles off the green keeper, coming on Friday. I had a brand new 150 yarder given me and a new basket so I know what I'll be doing on the next sunny afternoon. Has anybody used them before? cheers Postie Quote Link to post

wingnut 27
ive used them a few times over the years How did you get on with pointing the ends, i am going to attempt it with an angle grinder with flag pole in vice to stop the fibre glass splitting hopefully, but be interested to hear what everyone else doing or done. Just going to have to find some grommets, or possibly use some cut up bicycle tube as some say on here can be used, or wait for the bloke i use for machinery spares see if got any big thick o rings. I'm pretty sure you can buy the grommets from any of the net making suppliers, mate. I was going to try and get hold of an angle grinder, it'd be interesting to hear how the lads that have used the flag poles sharpened there's. Quote Link to post
