Irish Lurcher 1,013
This one was getting to me so I went to the one place where I knew I would get the correct answer. Down through the years I have many friends who are travellers, so off to the halting site I went. I put the question to Martin who is about my own age 21,(cough) . He nearly got sick, anyway he told me that yes many older travellers would have eaten dog in the old days from what he was told, I did manage to speak to one old fella who told me if I crossed his palm with sliver he would tell me all, he got a kick up the ass from Martin and proceeded to tell me that his farther was a man who would eat almost anything, including dog. So there you have it, yes they did eat dog, but not sure if many travellers of today still enjoy the odd jack Russell, but ya never know. Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Irish Lurcher; That's intriguing! Like I said above, there are cultural differances which I'm yet to fathom. I know no Roma would put Dog in their mouth. So the Irish Travellers would, eh? Jesus! Tell ye what; I'm well in with the local Pav's. Can't guarantee any speed on this one, but the next time I'm in town and run into one of my mates, I'll ask him and get him to ask his mum and dad. If I too can get a straight faced affirmation, straight from source, then I think we'll have verified something we'll all probably wish we'd left well alone! Quote Link to post
